I'm looking for a pole that would hold a 30lb Vinyl backdrop. I did not see the load weight limit on this item, is it sturdy enough to hold such a backdrop?
I think the pole would work, would depend more on the stands you use, and how far you extend it.

Based on answers, I see that you have to remove the end pieces with an Allen wrench to insert a roll of seamless or muslin background, I can only loosen one of the Allen screws and can't get the end pieces off, is this normal?
The screw can be removed with your fingers. No tools necessary.

How can you securely attach a silk or light blocking fabric that have velcro edges?
The easiest approach would be to use several of the Impact 2" Steel Spring A-Clamp (Black), BH # IMSSCA20B in order to secure the silk to this Manfrotto 272B Adjustable Background Holder. The amount of clamps you would actually need would depend on the width of the fabric.
