    Lowepro LP35197 reviews

Fastpack 350 Backpack (Black) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 305.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Camera Backpack- some shortcomings It was bought for a series of daytrips to photograph scenery, wild horses, birds, and dolphins. Camera equipment is a D3s with 20-70 mm and 80--400 mm lenses. Lowepro makes a great camera bag. It is easy to use and easy to load and unload the camera or lenses, even on a moving boat. It is comfortable and can be worn for hours. The mesh back provides some air circulation in a warm environment. However, the chest strap came loose only 4 days into a 2 week trip. It is not sewed on and is only a plastic clamp that loosely attaches to a roll of plastic on the shoulder strap. Were it not for this shortcoming, it would receive a higher rating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Carry hvy load/Slingshot ease of access I am packing a D3 with 70-200 mounted, 14-24 and 24-70 above and below, D300 body, SB800, 1.4x TC, cables, batteries and spare memory (Upper compartment) along with a rain-suit under the strap down flap for quick access. Easily accommodates my 17 laptop. With the waist belt and sternum strap this pack carries a very heavy load with comfort and great weight distribution for extended periods. Love the fact I can get to the camera a-la slingshot without having to take the pack fully off. Because it has the side access, it also make a great speed-pack as well and I have not picked up my Slingshot since getting this pack.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Quality but not the space it boasts. A lot of the reviews I read talked about it having more than enough space for pretty much the exact equipment I have. I find that my equipment is a little snug for my liking and therefore not so easy to manage. In the sectioned compartment I have a Canon 6d with battery grip and 70-200 f/2.8 attached, a crop sensor body with battery grip, a 24-70 f/2.8 lens, and a 50mm f1.4. The large zipper section is nice but things tend to roll around in there. In using this as more or a transporting pack I should have looked into a case. Websites tend to push this pack for the wrong reasons, I believe.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight until loaded. This is a large bag. Fully loaded it's heavy. I suppose that goes with the territory. The good news is the luggage it replaces. This bag, together with a large wheeled duffle, has reduced my location luggage count from about six pieces to these two items. That's huge for me. Fit, finish and features are not quite as good as my Lowepro Slingshot 200. The slingshot is, of course, smaller which does have an effect on zipper fit, for example. Still, the Slingshot 200 seems a more closely designed and manufactured piece. The Fastpack 350 also misses features like a sewn in lens cloth and an all weather cover. I don't regret the purchase. I only wish I could give it 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just the right size After ordering another brand of backpack, which I returned because my gear would not fit, I ordered the Fastpack 350. All of my camera gear fit nicely(Canon 40D, 17-85mm lens, 100mm Macro, 70-300mm lens, and Canon flash unit)and I could store the camera with any lens. I actually have room for more. This is all in the lower compartment. The upper compartment has plenty of space for other incidentals such as jackets. Since I don't plan on taking a lap top I could always place a rain jacket in that space. If there is any negative I would like to see a couple of places to attach some straps (to hold atripod). I am truely satisfied with this product ...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice backpack When I first received it I thought it was too big. But, after using it is the right size for me. It holds numerous lenses, a DSLR camera, flash unit, all accessories needed for me to carry out my photo needs. Plus it has space to add a lightweight coat, gloves, hat, flashlight and other items. It has an outside zippered compartment in which I store my snacks. It also has an outside water bottle holder which is great. It doesn't have a tripod carrying straps, but no big deal to me. I carry straps to affix it to the back of the backpack, which keeps the load centered for comfort.I keep my manuals in the laptop panel. I figured I couldn't go wrong with a pack from Lowepro.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I bought another backpack from Lowepro and the 2 main zippers self destructed the first time I used it. I brought it back and of course B & H took it back with no question. The Fastpack 350 is a different story; it works! The zipper does not break, It would confuse a would be thief and allows owner to get equipment out from the side; I am in Barcelona now and this city has become famous for robberies and scams. The only complaint I have compared to the other model backpack I bought from Lowepro is that a monopod does not fit inside the pack. Instead I carry it in my hand or in my belt and I can live with this. Thumbs up, K

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent gear at this price point For the money it's very hard to beat. The strap connection points are very strong. There is no concerns about something giving way when its fully loaded and you swing it around on one strap to get your camera out. All the zippers are protected with flaps, the main access is protected with a secondary flap, etc. I do own a competitors product that has more features but the build quality does not compare. The only thing missing from the Fastpack 350 is a rain cover and tripod attachment point. The rain cover is not a biggie really, unit is pretty weather resistant as is. Highly recommend.
