Round Halo Mono Softbox (45") is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very versatile! I use the Halo for commercial assignments and architectural jobs where you are backed into a corner with little room to put a light. It fits perfectly in a corner, the wide angle design covers the entire room as a fill light. If there is a down side, it is not rugged enough for location commercial or industrial work. I have a pile of these that have broken ribs. One broken rib is fine, as you can take it all the way up flush with the ceiling, as long as the flat side is up. :-)They should be stored in a tube to protect the ribs. With a conventional light box, if the light falls over, there is no damage to the box or the light, typically. With the Halo there most likely will be a rib or two sacrificed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Halo Mono is a great idea This is the easiest, most mobile, convenient, and quickest way to use a softbox. It closes like an umbrella, it opens like an umbrella, and it has an umbrella shaft to mount to a mono light. When its folded it takes up very little space. It is great for portraits on location, but the light is not as directional like as a rectangular softbox. The light from it has a wider spread,so it works on groups also. when you pack it put it on top.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ideal for location shoots, very flexible I bought this as a fast-setup alternative to a softbox when doing location shoots, and was not disappointed. I bought the version intended for use with studio monolights, but it works great with mt speedlights as well. Excellent Westcott build quality, and a great idea to begin with. Donlt forget that you'll need a speedlight mount for a lightstand that has an umbrella mount as well. Photoflex makes one, as do others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much Better Than an Umbrella Wescott makes great lighting equipment--I have a bunch of their stuff. The Halo is a big improvement over the use of a bounce back umbrella. The light is softer, and more controlled than a regular umbrella. Easy to install. My only complaint is it doesn't come with a slip cover/case for storage when not in use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent buy Extremely easy to use. Only drawback is lack of carrying bag for it. Was inspired by another brands design allowing part of the transluscent to be covered up in sections. So I bought this one, some black material and velcro. Made my own fully adjustable design for about $170 instead of $550 retail!
