I plan to use this with Alien Bees or Nikon SB-900. Do I need to buy extra mount to use with?
Asked by: Dzung
Dzung, The Halo will mount to the Umbrella receptacle on your Alien Bee. For the SB-900 you will need a speedlight adapter like the Westcott Adjustable Shoe Mount Speedlite Bracket #5015.

Will this work with a StarFlash 150?
Asked by: glenn
The Halo will mount to your StarFlash 150 umbrella receptacle. The placement of some larger strobes inside this standard Halo may be limited by the size of the strobe and the Mono version of the Halo may be a better choice. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/62705-REG/Westcott_2026_Round_Halo_Mono_Softbox.html

Id like to try continuous lighting with this. Is this possible and what would be an affordable option that is cool so that it doesn’t get too hot?
Asked by: Kathleen
Kathleen, There are many options out there, but we recommend LED due to the low heat they put off. One of the best solutions is the Solix Compact Kit. Westcott Part #6250 (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1362959-REG/westcott_6250_solix_compact_kit.html)

I’d like to try continuous lighting with this. Is it possible and if so what would be an affordable but quality option?
Asked by: Kathleen
Yes, it is possible however we recommend a LED light source due to the 300W heat resistance rating that the Halo fabric carries. One popular option for an LED light source is the Solix Compact Kit (Westcott SKU #6250) due to its versatile modifier options and its price.

Yes, I have been using these Westcott Halos for over 20 years, both on location and in my studio.I use a flash head that attaches with wires (old school). Beautiful very soft lighting. J Jazz from Bay Ridge
