Manfrotto MB MBAG80PN overview

  • 1Description

The Manfrotto by Bogen Imaging MBAG80PN Padded Tripod Bag (Black) is a padded ballistic nylon bag designed to carry Bogen/Manfrotto tripod with a head up to 31" long. As with all soft-sided bags, an item's girth may reduce this number. Thermoform padding holds the tripod in place and protects it, especially the head, during transport. It also serves a double purpose by protecting the tripod's hard edges when it is carried. The zipper extends down the length of the bag, but also fully opens the top end of the bag. The end opening allows for faster "quiver" style extraction and insertion of the tripod. The bag is tapered to follow the shape of the tripod and head.

The tripod legs fit comfortably in the narrower end and extra space is allowed for the larger volume of the head at the wider end. This also means it's easier to put the tripod and head in the bag, even if the head levers and knobs are fitted and jut out slightly. The bag includes a shoulder strap .

    Manfrotto MB MBAG80PN reviews

MBAG80PN Padded Tripod Bag is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 136.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Enough space to carry two tripods I am impressed with the quality, geometry, and space this bag affords. It's large enough to carry two sets of tripod legs (190CXPRO4 & 190XDB), two intermediate ball heads, and there's even room at the top to fit a 410 geared head. The zippers are oversized and seem to be durable, and the whole bag is sufficiently padded (although I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable checking this as airline baggage). The shoulder strap is comfortable and well laid out. Overall, I'm glad I purchased this, and I would recommend it to others.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not what your tripod needs, but the one it deserves. I use this product quite frequently for outdoor sports capture (Hockey, Soccer) and it works great to keep my tripod intact and safe when transporting in different environments. The padding on the inside is a big help when transporting around and packing away my tripod in tight spaces or corners. It fairs well in the snow, mud and water too. Overall a great case that fits a lot more than I thought! Recommend for a prosumer with a custom build tripod or who likes to take care of their gear.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is not exact product I wanted Recommended by a sales rep over online chat. It is a good product with exact length for my 055CXPRO 3-SECTION TRIPOD and 498 MAXI BALL HEAD w/RC2 QR PLATE in combination. However, it is too fat that the tripod is too thin fitting inside. I think the bag is good for a Video tripod with big leg and head.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great design with subtle features I like the hard padded and larger area for head. This not a heavy bag. The bag has subtle features such as a heavy duty short nylon strap at the head side, presumably to hang on hook. Further, the bottom has a padded hand strap great for grabbing without wresting with the larger shoulder strap. Which by the way is not padded but wide enough to be comfortable. I chose the padded version of this bag for a little extra protection, though would never airline check this. My tripod is an older Bogen Manfrotto 3221 with a newer 503 head. As another reviewer noted, inside pockets or even straps would be a nice touch, as I remove the head arm and would like to secure it in the bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy and Safe This semi hard case offers the most protection by the head of the tripod where it is needed. The zipper is very wide and sturdy. No zipper snags here. Easy to carry shoulder strap make this a necessity for any fluid head tripod.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great protection! I use this product to protect an expensive gitzo set of legs. I love the amount of protection and the padding is super thick! the zipper was a little tough to work at first but it lossened up just enough to make it around all the way. I love the option to open just the top when in sandy areas so no to get sand or dirt inside the bag. The only downfall is that it doesnt have an extra pocket. I end up having to use a smaller bag for the small amount of tools needed just in case (L wrenches and extra plates). Hopefully future production of the case includes an extra pocket for tools and other equipment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a bag and it works... I use this bag for my Manfrotto 055XPROB tripod with 486RC2 ball head. The gear fits perfectly--this is the right size bag for that setup. The bag provides adequate cushion and protection and the strap is comfortable enough, although I'm not sure how far I would hike with it, being that the strap has no padding. I'm certainly going to try it out and see though, considering it's not really that heavy with my tripod loaded in it.
