This is for the new slidefix narrow-width Arca-Swiss system, not the wider system that RRS, Wimberly, et. al. are using. Assuming you use this system (I think few do), you have your choice of 1/4 or 3/8 screw. You remove the screw you dont use. It seems very precisely made, but does not match my standard ball heads.
