    Celestron 91509 reviews

Omni CG-4 Mount is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from excellent mount for the price. for the price, this mount is very well made. There is one thing I wish was improved, however. The locking levers for the RA and DEC axes need to be cranked down with a decent amount of force to sufficiently lock the device in place. With that said, this mount is awesome. I have only had a few weeks, but have had not problem calibrating my finder scope and successfully pinpointing Saturn, while using my home-made telescope. I am a photographer and got this to use with my astrophoto setup, that includes a home-made 6-diameter, f/8, Newtonian reflector, and my dslr setup. I did not buy the motor mount with the telescope, because I have my own motor mount I made for a previous tracking mount I made, but plan to get it at a later date. I am happy to have this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful telescope mount I bought this mount after buying a slightly used Omni XLT 150 Newtonian reflector and I absolutely love it. The axes are smooth and it handles both the reflector and my 90mm f/10 refractor with no problems. It's quite a bit heavier than my EQ2 mount I got with my refactor, but that's a good thing as it keeps the vibrations to a minimum and last under a second with my current scopes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic mount for the money I bought this mount with the XLT 120 scope and couldn't be happier with the mount or scope. This is easy to move outside and easy to balance. For the money you can't go wrong.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The way to go for Grab and Go! This sturdy and inexpensive mount fills the void between camera tripods that are too light to do the job and much heavier equatorial mounts that aren't worth the pain of setting up for a short viewing session. If you want to take a quick peak at something in the sky, it's hard to beat this mount. It's light enough to carry, but strong enough to do the job. It doesn't have the ability to automatically find things for you, but it will track them for you--manually (as delivered) or automatically with the optional CG-4 Mount Dual Axis Motor Drive. It is perfect for observing easy-to-find objects like planets, the moon, or the sun with a hydrogen alpha telescope. I took off one star because the screw that is used to attach the telescope bracket to the mount has a metal tip that may (over time) produce cosmetic scratches on the telescope bracket. A Delrin-tipped screw might have been a better choice.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Move leveling lock screws up to top!! All alt az tripods are identical with leveling lock screws postioned at the bottom of legs !! They can be placed at the top of legs for ease of leveling wihtout having to bend way down to level the legs.. I am tired of bumping my head against the telescope after I level my tripod with my tiring bent back way down! I encourage them to go back to drawing them again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty sturdy tripod This tripod will handle literally anything you throw at it. This is the second one I own since I have two scopes. I love how sturdy it is! Quality made.
