Celestron 91509 Reviews

Well Built

I used this the other day for a Hydrogen/Alpha scope. The scope and binoviewers had some weight to them and didn't bother the mount. I used both weights and the mount moved smoothly through the motions. The locks are in a better place than my other mount and I don't have to fumble around to find them. The center support for the legs seems thin to me but so far I've had no problems. Time will tell with this one but so far I'm happy with it.

Versatile Rock Solid Platformer

I have owned this Mount & Tripod twice, never should have sold it the first time. It is a rock solid platform for any scope up to 20 lbs. or possibly even 25 lbs. depending on how you intend to use it. #1 - Alt/Az Mode - Super Solid Performer, easily handles my AT102ED Refractor that weighs in at 13.5 lbs with all my accessories and heavy 2” eyepieces or Binoviewers. No vibrations at all! Perfect focusing at high magnification. #2 - EQ Mode - Still easily handles the AT102ED but possibly just slightly less solid than in Alt/AZ Mode. #3 - I also use the Tripod matched with my AZ-GTi head/pier (w/adapter). Honestly, you can’t go wrong with this product, a really great observing platform.
