Can this be used to trigger a Panasonic S1R camera?
A cable such as the GigaPan E3 Trigger Cable for the EPIC PRO Robotic Camera Mount and Select Canon Cameras, BH # GI5101500 would connect to the 2.5mm port on the Panasonic S1R to allow the Epic Pro Head to be used with it.

question
Is it all right to mount this on a ball-head, or will the weight and multiple movements cause the head to slip.
I would suggest a direct mount to a tripod plate. Skip the swivel mounts. The unit does shake a bit with a heavy lens. I use heavy Manfrotto pods.

question
Hi,I would like to know what is the best lens to use with the epic pro? Especially for subjects at distances of 500m or more. Also what is the biggest lens that the epic pro can accommodate if I'm using a Canon 1Dx camera?
It depends. Telephotos will give you detail, they will also foreshorten the depth. You need to balance between the two. Take shots of the main area of interest with different focal lengths to help you make that determination.
