Photek SoftLighter 60" Reviews
Super tight fabric ribbing around light

Like the umbrella but the ribbed neck, to go around the light, is way too tight and I struggled to get around my lights ( photogenic). I am also used to Larson soft boxes so the cover was cheaper than I expected. But the quality of light is nice in the end.

I love this thin profile umbrella its perfect for low ceilings and creates beautiful light. My only challenge was the diffuser sock was too thin to fit my alien b's square strobe, so I used a different brand diffuser that I had on hand. If you are using a thinner strobe it will fit. Otherwise be prepared. The sock would not stretch to fit.

question
Has anyone used a quantum Qflash T5D-R with this umbrella? Does the speed light opening have enough space to allow a Qflash to fit?
From the manufacturer, Yes you can use the Photek HSD-60K with the Quantum Flash you mentioned. The opening on the HSD diffuser is large enough.

do you need a reflector head on on the strobe ...
do you need a reflector head on on the strobe with the softlighter? do you need a reflector head on the strobe with the softlighter? A youtuber says you do, but I don't see which one to buy for a profoto D2
Not for a Profoto D or B series with a "built in" reflector. On profoto pro heads or other strobe you may. Not these.

how does the 8mm shaft remove?
how does the 8mm shaft remove?
About 18'' of the end of the shaft just un screws so you can get the Softlighter closer to your subject and the shaft will not be in the image.

Does the 60" comes with the gold and silver inner ...
Does the 60" comes with the gold and silver inner reflectors? I got both the 46 and 60, however my 46" only has the reflectors. Just wondering if I've possibly misplaced them, or maybe they don't come with it.
On this umbrella the Interior Color is White

would this work with a continuous 600w light?
would this work with a continuous 600w light?
The Photek SoftLighter Umbrella with Removable 8mm Shaft (60") is not recommended for continuous lights generating ample amounts of heat. An actual softbox would be better suited for a 600W continuous light.
