If you're looking for better light using your on-camera flash, Photek's 60" Hot Shoe Diffuser Panel can help: you get a diffuser panel for a 60" umbrella (umbrella not included) with an opening for a hot shoe flash (flash not included) and an umbrella shaft, that's part of Photek's Hot Shoe Diffuser Kit--a setup that gives you a broad, soft, studio-quality light using only battery-powered "on-camera" flash.

60" Hot Shoe Diffuser Panel is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Speedlight and Quadra Head Fit With this panel I can use diffuion on the Softlighter with a small speedlight or an Elinchrom Quadra head. With a diffusion panel I get beautiful light. The Softlighter is far easier to set up quickly on location than a large soft box or an Elinchrom indirect Octa. The Hot Shoe Diffuser Panel is better than using the regular diffuser with the sock for the above uses because it is suited to using an umbrella stand adapter (like a Manfrotto) to mount a speedight or Quadra head. The Quadra head is offset from center and must be aimed carefully which makes the regular diffusion panel problematic. The only drawback to the panel is the way it gets wrinkled...this seems to have no affect on performance.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very Thin-Doensn't Diffuse Well I ordered this diffuser for my 60 Interfit and Impact umbrellas that have ten umbrella spokes. It didn't fit the Interfit umbrella, but it went on nicely on the Impact one. I didn't feel like spending for the Photek Softlighter umbrella which to me does not look any better than lower priced umbrellas. However, I did want the Diffuser Panel because the diffuser I had from Paul C. Buff was a pain to put on and these have holes which goes on easily.I had seen these diffusers when I assisted a photographer, however they were for monolights not for speedlights. BUT the fabric was WAY thicker. Maybe they were an older version were they used thicker fabric. These are very see-through and BARELY diffuse, if at all! I have the diffuser from Paul C. Buff and the 7' one from Wescott which all diffuse beautifuly (and cost way less than this).I would have love this had it been more opaque.
