Key Features
  • Reduces Highlights and Lowers Contrast
  • Softens Wrinkles and Blemishes
  • Creates a Soft Quality of Light

The Tiffen 67mm Black Pro-Mist 1 Filter helps to reduce the value of the highlights while slightly lowering the overall contrast. While designed for use with movies, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike a traditional diffusion or soft focus filter, Pro-Mist filters provide little loss of detail across the image. The 1 density provides more contrast and highlight reduction than the 1/2, but less than the 2, while still allowing for a soft, pastel-like quality of light.

Tiffen 67BPM1 Reviews

For the Extreme Vintage, Almost Dreamy Feel

I wrote a review for the 1/4 BPM too... so some of this is the same. I've been told my work has this vintage, or cinematic feeling, but that's not the reason why I use these filters. I like Black Pro Mist filters because cameras these days feel too digital and too sharp - to the point of where I think it detracts. It's entirely subjective - and I hate the cliche of saying it's my style but it is. The best way to describe the look of the BPM 1 is it makes your image or video look way less digital in camera. The halation in the highlights is very noticeable and it overall softens the feel of your image or video. Color grading with these filters is still easy, as these filters just changes the sharpness especially with how highlights fall off, and it doesn't quite impact the color itself - with exception to how saturated it is. If you want that dreamy, or incredibly vintage look, then get at least a 1/2 or 1. The filters are relatively inexpensive for camera gear, so give it a shot. If you don't like it for your everyday look, you never know when it'll come in handy for one-off projects!

Softens lines and spots for nicer portraits but doesn't blur every detail.

I purchased this filter to assist in softening the the look of my videos as well as compensating for high contrast conditions. It's a quality product that works well with my 35 mm adapter and lenses.

Can I attach this to my 90mm smc lens ? Someone before told me no
Asked by: Isaac
I don't know that lens, but as long as your lens can get filters attached, you would need step up rings for the filter to get attached to your lens. But you will need rings all the way to 90 mm. Hope this helps! :)
