    Benro B2 reviews

B2 Double Action Ballhead is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Benro Ballheaded Bought to use on a tripod (carbon) that I have yet to purchase. I have it mounted temp. on another tripod. It is a good positive locking head. I have mounted on it an Induro GHBA gimbal head with plans to use with a 300mm f/2.8 lens. Currently testing with a 300mm f/4 lens. It is a good solid combination. Especially with the gimbal head set up. Smooth tracking.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sturdy ballhead I have Canon 6D with 24-105 f4 and 70-200 f4 lenses. After using pistol grip ball head tried Benro B2. It's very sturdy and does not move once the knobs are kept tight. I use it for mostly landscape photography where I do lot of pano and waterfalls. Steady tripod with smooth motion is a must and this ball head handles it very well. I have no problem tilting camera for portrait mode. With pistol grip it can't keep it in position.I bought the demo item at a lesser price and it looks brand new

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good... I have yet to use the head in the field but setting up at home with my Benro tripod the head works great. I really like the friction control know. My previous ball head did not have that and eventually froze (I had to send it back to manufacturer). Easily allows switching of plates. The thing I noticed was that to fully turn the plate locking knob to release the plate you have to pull the plate locking knob out then turn and the plate will come free. Not a real annoyance - just a new step I had to learn. I think it has to do with the safety stop screws underneath the plate. I gave it 4 stars as I've not fully tested the head in the field. I will try and update this review after my trip to the Pacific Northwest this weekend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ball head I bought this ball head along with a Benro FGP28c tripod, a 30-lb capacity gear. I have not fully used and tested it yet, but my first impression is very positive. I use it for my Canon 80D, mostly with the 18-135mm kit lens (photo and video), but occasionally with my Sigma 150-600mm telephoto lens. I knew that a gimbal will be eventually better for that heavy equipment, but I confirm that this 30-lb gear is still strong enough to be used comfortably. (until budget allows an additional upgrade :) ) I love the feeling of handling its different moving parts, being sturdy enough and providing smooth movements. Excellent mechanism for quick release system. I attached the provided plate on my Sigma big lens and use the Peak Design plate on my camera. I noticed, however, that although being both ARCA-compatible, the Peak Design plate does not fit perfectly on ball head's quick release base (but with no issue). Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid, smooth and a great value I only recently started using a DSLR two years ago and since then had been using a 3-way pan/tilt head that I had used on Large format 4x5 for years. I came to realize I needed a ball head, quick release and an L-bracket for those vertical setups. I do primarily nature/landscape images and shoot with Nikon D800E. My biggest lens is a Nikkor 80-200/2.8. My tripod is a Feisol. I did all my research and reviews online. The limiting factor for purchase was cost. There are tons of brands out there, but I was not going to be able to pay for RRS, Gitzo, Arca, etc. The pricing, look, features and reviews of the Benro all looked good. After reading many reviews and watching some youtubes I settled on the B2. I was also looking at one of the B1's, but found out the knob grips on the B2 are rubber and not plastic. Good to know. Out of the box, my first impression was that the head was smaller than I expected. The initial let down disappeared quickly once I mounted on the tripod and began playing with it. I purchased a SunwayFoto L-bracket which fits my camera perfectly and the whole set up seems to be matched up beautifully. When locked down (with little effort) the camera/lens on top of the head and tripod is SOLID. No movement, slop or anything. Initially I was looking for a lever lock style clamp, but decided to just check out the clamp that was supplied with the B2. I'm sold, the Benro knob style clamp works great. The operation of the knob clamp is quick and easy. The safety lock system is easy to operate and I am completely confident my camera/lens is safe left on top of the tripod. I couldn't say how this would handle BIG glass; this is probably not the right setup for wildlife or sports photography. But for your average outdoor/landscape photographer I would highly recommend the Benro B2. It's SOLID, operates smoothly, finely machined and finished. Very happy with this purchase. A terrific value for the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid I am again impressed with Benro's level of quality and design. They have managed to deliver high quality products at what is a reasonable price. This is as good as any other brand and doesn't break the bank. Loads of bang for your buck.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Benro B2 On-the-Ballhead I am a photo hobbyist and use the Benro B2 in combination with a Manfrotto CX190 tripod. The B2 is great, combining light weight with a high maximum load and readily evident product quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love Benro products I purchased this to work with a previously purchased Benro tripod. I am very impressed with Benro products (this is my second Benro ballhead), for the price, it's just as good as the more expensive brands. It is very well made, and I love the Arca Swiss type mount quick release (I previously had a Manfrotto, and found their quick release is too cumbersome). I find very little difference between the build of Induro and Benro.
