The RC-3F 3-Way Footswitch from TASCAM allows you to add additional control and functionality to the GB-10, LR-10, DP-03, and other TASCAM recorders and players. DP24sd/32sd.. with RC-3F one of the buttons can be set for 'Record' and one for 'Play'. Can 'Record' start recording alone or does 'Play need to be pressed also at the same time?
As long as you have a track armed it works. You have the options to set any of the three foot switches to any combination of the following settings.Play, Rec, Stop, FF, Rew, Punch In/Out, PlayStop and cue locate.

Would this work with the Portastudio 488?
I'm not certain. I called Tascam (California number) about another question, left a message , and they got back to me the next day. Hope this helps a little, good luck!

Will this work on the GT2 guitar trainer?
The answer is on Tascam's site for this product. It says:The RC-3F is a 3-way footswitch for the GB-10, LR-10, DP-03 and other TASCAM recorders and players. The 2.5mm mini jack plugs into the remote jack of these TASCAM products to add features like play/pause, looping or punch in. See the product's user manual for details. Compatible products: CD-500CD-500BDP-03DP-24DP-32GB-10LR-10US-366So, I would say that it won't work with the GT-2 guitar trainer.Tony
