Will vignetting occur when using this filter on the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens with the supplied lens hood?
The Canon 77mm Protector Filter is not a slim or thin filter, so it will have slight vignetting at the wider range of the 24-105mm f/4 lens. The B+W UV-Haze #010 MRC MASTER Filter (77mm), BH # BWUVM77, is slim and would be a better option.

Absolutely. I purchased two of them and have been using them on my Canon 70-200mm f2.8L and my Canon 24-70mm f2.8L for the last several months. I have not even noticed them being there. The lenses continue to function perfectly.

can I put a protect filter on top of a polarized filter?
I use a protective filter all the time to protect lens. If I decide to use a polarized filter I place it on top of protective filter and remove polarized filter when done using it.

Will this fit (and still allow my lens cap to attach) a Canon PowerShot SX500IS?
Since the SX500IS does not have filter threads, this filter will not fit. You may be able to find a third-party filter adapter online, but B&H does not carry it at this time.

Does this filter fit the canon ultra wide angle 17-40m USM?
The Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM lens accepts a 77mm filter. With that said, the B+W 77mm XS-Pro UV Haze MRC-Nano 010M Filter B&H # BWUVXSP77 would be a better choice in terms of size and offers a thinner ring to prevent vignetting. Please see the image below for reference.

I am thinking about a filter for a Swarovski spotting scope that takes an 82mm filter. I am assuming this will work?
The Canon 82mm Protector Filter will fit on a Swarovski scope that us an 82mm filter thread such as the STS-80 HD 80mm Spotting Scope.
