Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product by a good name. I use this product as a protector for my lenses - on more than one occassion I have dropped a camera and had the filter same the lense itself from damage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Protection for a Quality Lens I recently purchased a 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM lens from my friends at B&H and wanted either a clear or UV filter to protect the front lens element. Since this is a very expensive lens I wanted a quality filter for protection and that would not alter image quality. Although expensive for a clear filter, I have found that the Canon Protector Filters are very high quality and have no effect on image quality. I have four L series lenses and use these filters on all of them. I can add ND or polarized filters without removing the Protector Filter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The 82mm filter fits and works great on the lens This 82mm is marked 82mm on the edge unlike the photo and is a perfect fit on my 16-35mm lens and does not affect image quality near the edges. I didn't notice any with my middle aged bare eyes It is far from anti static. My filter arrived with some white dust and a tiny finger smudge near the edge. I learned right away that this filter is quite difficult to cleanand remove any foggy haze or smudge left from cleaning wipe or solution. A manual blower just chased dust specks around and a lens brush worked.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New... It's simple, it does it's job, I have them on all my lenses... I'm outside for a lot of my shoots... the extra protection is worth it. This is a newer style for Canon too... I have recently purchased two and they're not slightly different, not sure what the change was but... It does it's job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from simple, reliable I have a protective filter for all of my lenses. It is there mainly for protection of the front element. I honestly cannot see any optical filtering or enhancement with the filter on vs off, which I consider to be a good thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Filter It seemed foolish to skimp on a protective filter for such an expensive lens (Canon L f/2.8 24-70 II) so I spent a little more on the Canon UV filter. This Canon filter doesn't seem as dark / tinted as the Hoya and other UV filters - at least from the pictures in the on-line catalog. This was important to me because I didn't want anything skewing the exposure on this lens. It was important to me to stick with the Canon brand.
