According to Vello, there are two new additions with the Shutterboss II over the original model. A power off option has been added to simply help conserve battery life. The other option is a reset back to factory settings so that each setting does not need to be reset individually.

I purchased a Shutterboss a year ago for my 7D. The cable connection to the Canon socket was terrible - it was loose and only connected 20% of the time - so I returned it (thank you B&H) Is this a new and improved version?
