Tremendous for the price

I use this for video often for in-game footage with ice hockey. The panning is smooth and transitions seamlessly even with faster movements. Night and day difference from our older tripod. The feet on this also offer great stability and holds strong without tipping.

Great for portability

I needed tripods to take on location shoots, planning to use 4 cameras. So I need tripods that are light and collapse as compact as possible and yet not too costly. This tripod satisfies those requirements very well. Plus, it was even better quality and extends higher than I was expecting. I'm very happy with it.

Replaces the toy we started with. Much better fluid motion (azimuth & elevation). Sandbag helps too.

Why is this so cheap?

I was tasked with purchasing a cheap tripod for my job and this one was cheap and it was the right size. With the low price, I had low expectations, but I'm quite happy to report that I was wrong. This tripod moves smoothly, locks securely into position, and has very standard, easy controls. The value here is incredible. It might not be suitable for heavy cameras (I haven't checked), but anything within its weight rating will sit securely on this tripod.

Good product, good value

It's a nice tripod. I love how smoothly it pans horizontally and vertically. My only complaints are that it cannot be rotated sideways for when I'm using a smartphone camera and the pole cannot be removed so that the camera can be carried by hand. I work in a church and sometimes we need to carry a camera or smartphone around (like for processions) but then replace it on the tripod for the rest of the service. We've had to use a different tripod in these situations.

I'm looking for tripod for a Dianfan Monocular ...

I'm looking for tripod for a Dianfan Monocular Telescope 10x50, would this tripod work with this scope? Thanks in advance ! MJG
Asked by: MJ
Yes, you can attach Dianfan Monocular Telescope 10x50 to Magnus VT-100 Tripod System with 2-Way Pan Head. The release plate on the tripod has a 1/4-20 screw which match the thread size your telescope. Magnus VT-100 also have a 4.4LB load capacity, which almost triple the weight of your telescope.

question

Is the DSLR Canon EOS Rebel t5i too heavy for this tripod? Also, does it work well outside in grass, gravel, etc?
Asked by: Tiaras P.
The Rebel T5i with a 18-55mm lens weighs 1.6 lbs/730 grams, which is well within the Magus VT-100's limit. To answer your other question, any tripod is meant to be used in grass, gravel sand, dirt and snow. I do have to caution and say this is an economy tripod that is very light and is for basic duty. For more critical uses, say astrophotography or long time exposures, consider upgrading to a more robust tripod when you can.

question

Please describe the pan and tilt action of this tripod. Is it jerky or smooth?
Asked by: Anonymous
The tripod has a fluid head - so it's pretty smooth. Not as smooth as more high end fluid heads, but for the price it's good. There isn't a tripod / fluid head all in one package that's cheaper than this model. And it's very light for transport -
