Nikon 6975 overview

  • 1Description

The ProStaff 5 20-60x82 Spotting Scope from Nikon delivers a capacious magnification spread with a very high zoom power of 20-60x. Initial scanning is already magnified to 20x but then zooming in for fine detail continues to an intense 60x for observing the intricacies of your chosen subject. That's on the ocular side. On the objective side is an immense 82mm of light-gathering ability that puts observation into the low-light situations of dawn, dusk, and overcast days, when nocturnal creatures are more apt to start showing themselves. The scope is made for outdoor conditions. Waterproof to 3.3 feet for up to 10 minutes, it is fully O-ring sealed and purged with nitrogen to ensure all-weather performance. BAK4 multi-coated optics assure optimal high-contrast seeing with superb brightness and color fidelity. The angled eyepiece allows longer stress free viewing sessions with a more comfortable view of targets near the zenith. There is a built-in sliding sunshade for protection from excessive glare or raindrops on the objective. Backed up by Nikon's "No-Fault" repair/replacement 25-year warranty; regardless of what happens to the scope—even from negligence—Nikon will repair or replace (at their option) this extremely well-built and durable spotting scope.

Very large objective lens for a brighter field of view
Compact, lightweight, and smooth ergonomic design
All lenses and prisms are fully multi-layer coated for brighter images
Built-in sliding hood provides glare, dust, rain, and snow protection for the objective
O-ring sealed, nitrogen purged, waterproof (up to 3.3'/1m for 10 minutes) and fogproof protection
Chromatic aberration at the peripheries of the view field is minimized, furnishing color fidelity out to the edge

    Nikon 6975 reviews

ProStaff 5 20-60x82 Spotting Scope (Angled Viewing) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good scope at this price point This scope is designed for, and only suited to viewing objects with a short depth of field such as targets or perching birds. Focus at 20x is adequate, but as soon as the eye piece is zoomed toward or beyond the mid point in the 20-60x range focus becomes problematic. Despite the internal treatment of the barrel and coated lenses there is still a fair degree of flare and color fringing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great scope for the money Like all Nikon optics they are better than average for what you pay, I like my 20x60x82 works great in low light that's what I was looking for. The field of vision on high power is a little small at 300 yards but at longer distances like 1 to 2 thousand yards its good.the eye relief takes a little getting use to on the higher power and the focus knob is in a good place and works well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All that you need at a nice price I purchased this scope for bird watching in my backyard. It is easy to use, images are sharp and the colors true. I looked at other spotting scopes which were as much as $3000. They may be better, but this scope offers all that you need for wildlife viewing at a very affordable price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I was looking for! I live about a two miles away from my surf break and was looking for something better than my shaky binoculars to check the conditions. While not exactly designed for this, it works beautifully, the clarity is not perfect at this range but it is pretty dang good. Looks straight into the barrel and I can actually recognize people I know. For birding or checking detail in anything at much closer ranges, the clarity is amazing. You can even read handwritten notes in peoples cars parked across the street. Stoked!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Optics I found this to be lighter than expected, but that just makes it easier to carry. I've used it to check out a location 20 miles away, and also to watch wildlife at 100 meters. Either way, it's bright and clear. The only negative is that it's pretty big, and so it's hard to find a travel case for it. But I'm really glad I bought it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from solid scope I use this scope for birding. The optics are clear and the scope lets in plenty of light. The zoom function is very nice. However, the scope is difficult to focus - the focus knob is very sensitive - maybe too sensitive. I seem to be constanly over correcting. Maybe more practice with the scope will smooth out my focusing issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'd buy another one of these scopes I am very pleased with this scope. While using this product for birding, the targeted birds are seen clearly and more vivid. It's really nice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Facts I bought this scope. Love it. Excellent quality for the price. Comes with a bikini. Downside is that at full zoom it is impossible to focus.
