The Westcott PocketBox Round - 8.5" is an ideal solution for a multitude of problems inherent in on-camera flash use. The PocketBox Round sets up in seconds and is compatible with any shoe-type flash, whether you're using it on or off camera. First and foremost, it eliminates the harsh shadows produced with direct flash, especially when the flash is the main source of light. Since the light is diffused, redeye is minimized and contrast softened. The shape of the box produces round catchlights in the eyes of your subject for a natural look in portraiture. The PocketBox Round features a silver interior to maximize your flash's output, as well as a removable diffusion panel for even output.
- Softens Direct Flash

Westcott Pocket Box Round Reviews
Flat and compact
I had recently lost my Gary Fong diffuser head and saw that they weren't producing these at the moment. I thought it was a good opportunity to try something new too. I don't use these types of items a lot, but sometimes in an on-the-go moment, having an available light and diffuser are just more practical than dragging a big light around. I like to use this at weddings when I need to move quickly and want to trigger a second light that my assistant is holding. This is good in low-light reception venues. It is also great to use for my family - I can throw it onto my speedlight quickly for back-to-school early morning portraits outdoors for a touch of light on my favorite subjects. I like that the whole thing folds flat and fits easily into any camera bag - from my Temba bag for travel to my regular camera bag for jobs.
Great addition
It is a great addition to my modest lighting set up. Does as expected and softens the passport look of a bare on camera flash.
