Key Features
  • Ideal for Studio & Broadcast
  • Neutrik XX Silver Connectors
  • 98% Braided Shield
  • Twin Conductive PVC Inner Shields
The Kopul Studio Elite 4000 Series XLR M to XLR F Microphone Cable (6') is a studio-quality cable for connecting mics to mixers, preamps, audio interfaces, and recorders or to be used in any other application where XLR connectivity is required. The cable is engineered to be both quiet and durable, and is well suited for critical recording and broadcast situations.

Studio Elite 4000 Series cables are made from 24 AWG OFC copper wire that's wrapped with PE insulation and a conductive PVC inner shield. A cotton-yarn inner layer helps reduce electrostatic and microphonic noise. A 98% braided outer shield makes the cable resistant to EMI and RFI noise. The Neutrik XX silver connectors provide a high level of connectivity, and all the solder connections are shrink-wrapped for protection.

Can one side of the cable plug into the Zoom H4 and the other side into the rode ntg 2?

The Kopul Studio Elite 4000 cables would be the correct cable used to connect a shotgun mic such as the Rode NTG-2 to the input on the Zoom H4n recorder.

question

Is this really a quality cable? It's spec sheet is well written but I have some pretty serious doubts considering the price points are dramatically below most reputable brands. It's considerably cheaper than guitar center's livewire brand, which I would not consider to be a top quality product. Kopul's own website only offers a 1 year warranty.... Thoughts? Can anyone with longterm experience with this product attest to it's durability and reliable clean sound?

I've never used Kopul XLR cables, but I'm rather surprised at the design. Balanced audio is supposed to run on a twisted pair (either within a shield or not). The idea is that any RF noise encountered by the cable will be equal on both signal conductors and cancelled out at the differential input of the receiver. These cables appear to have signal conductors with their own shielding (conductive PVC?) and it's not clear whether they are twisted along the length. Either of those could potentially reduce the function of the balanced interface. Seems like someone did not understand the principles of balanced audio, but wanted to make the cable seem more robust. They still might work fine in many situations, but I would be wary.

can i use this cable to connect powered mixer to ...

can i use this cable to connect powered mixer to powered speaker?
Asked by: Brandall
Since powered mixers and powered speakers both have a built-in amplifier, powered speakers should never be connected to the main speaker outputs on a powered mixer and doing so can cause permanent damage to both the mixer and the speakers, as well as to any devices in between like crossovers. However, it is possible to connect powered speakers to the "record outputs" or "tape outputs" or "line outputs," since these outputs bypass the mixer's amplifier section and do not send power from the mixer's amplifier out to the speakers. As for the Kopul Studio Elite 4000 Series Neutrik XLR M to XLR F Microphone Cable, it can be used to connect a powered speaker to an unpowered mixer or to connect a powered mixer to an unpowered speaker. Just be aware that you should never connect the main speaker outputs from a powered mixer to the input on a powered speaker.
