    OverBoard OB1001B Reviews

Waterproof Dry Tube Bag, (5L, Blue) is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Purchase I do a lot of kayaking and this dry tube bag is exactly what I need to protect my camera and lens. Product is extremely well made and handles a 300mm fix lens and camera body with no problem. I also like feature of being able to clamp bag to kayak and bags ability to float.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent! I have been using this bag to protect my Nikon 5200 with 18-200 lens during my visit to the Galpagos Islands. There is plenty of space for the camera in the bag. It's easy to use and has kept my equipment dry.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Seemed like a nice bag so I used it on a kayaking trip to hold my Canon 60D. I didn't submerge it or anything, just used it to hold the camera getting into and out of the boat. Although I kept the packets of desiccant in the bag, when I took my camera out, I noticed that the inside of the bag was damp. Since the bag wasn't immersed, and there was no water in the kayak, I can only attribute the dampness to humidity in the air and the sun heating the bag, rather than a leak or improper seal. Has a nice sholder strap too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pleased I wouldn't say this is 100% waterproof, but it is pretty close. Air gets trapped in the bag making it float so this is also a great plus for boating. I tested it out my pool and tossed the bag in and violently shaked it around under water (more than what would happen if the bag went overboard on a kayaking trip), only a few drops got in and that may have been mostly from the outside of the bag dripping as I opened it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect size for a DSLR camera Used the dry bag on a canoe trip - perfect size for my DSLR camera. The dry bag kept it safe from splashes as well. Good insurance against a capsize event which did not occur.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Best for a brief dunking One of our group kept his Walkie Talkie in the pouch while wading in a stream to fish. He slipped exposing the bag briefly to a swift current. A small amount of water leaked in but the bag essentially worked to keep the equipment dry. However I think that if not pulled out quickly, more water might have leaked in. Still, I'd recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for short photo trips. I use this to store my camera housing, telephoto, wide angle, 18-55mm, and nifty fifty when I do kayak trips. be careful not to overfill it, or else it won't be submersion safe, but even if it's overfilled it's completely splash safe.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not exactly what I thought it was It's waterproof but not float-able and that's what I needed.

    question

Will my Canon Eos SL1 with neoprene fitted case fit in this bag?
    Asked by: Diani A.
It should! It's a pretty spacious bag.

    question

Do you think it will fit a Nikon D810 with a Nikon 200-500?
    Asked by: Jorge C.
Seems unlikely. A D600 + 70-200 f4 fills the bag easily but fully. The combination you propose is 3 (7.6 cm) longer. Bag seems like a fine product. Fortunately I did not find out if it really works.

    question

what is the size of the bag?
    Asked by: Anonymous
The bag is cylindrical (round) and approx. 7 diameter across the bottom and the top and about 17 tall. Hope this helps

    question

Is this bag waterproof enough to go into the waves for a quick dive?
    Asked by: Ran I.
This bag has been good for me so far and air tight (folded 3 times). As a test, I stuffed it with my keys, wallet, phone, a shirt, and a pair of shorts, then I threw it overboard of the boat and then jumped in to grab it. I put the strap over my shoulder and swam to shore. Amazingly everything stayed dry!!! I was happy since I was brave enough to put my keys and phone in the bag. I was in a big bay about 200 yards out. It's a good bag. I recommend it.

    question

Can I use this bag to limit condensation if I take a camera from the cold outdoors into a warm room?
    Asked by: Anonymous
Hi, yes, I do think it would limit condensation. I assume you will bag the camera (both being cold) then bring it to a warmer environment. You would need to let it stay in the bag until it warms close to room temp (which would be hard to tell) so you may have to test how long a very cold camera needs to stay in it before removing. Maybe 20 min? 30 min?Good luck.

    question

Is the bag padded? Thank you
    Asked by: Lilyana D.
No pad at all, add your own padding if needed. It performs well anyway!
