This Westcott Spiderlite TD6 Daylight 36 x 48" Shallow Softbox Kit contains everything you'll need for video interviews or still product work and portraiture. It includes a TD6 head, Tilter Bracket, large 36 x 48" Shallow Softbox for wrap-around light and 6- 50W daylight fluorescent balanced lamps. The softbox can also handle hotlights up to 750W. Just add an optional light stand.

Building upon the design of the well-received TD5 the Westcott Spiderlite TD6 adds another socket for a total of 6 for increased light output. This light fixture accepts optional tungsten halogen (3200K) lamps as well as fluorescents (3200 - 6000K) and screw-mount flash. Three separate controls allow multiple combinations of bulbs together with no color shift. The TD6 has all-metal construction with 4 built-in receptacles for direct attachment of a 4-sided softbox without an adapter ring.

Westcott TD6 reviews

Spiderlite TD6 Daylight 36 x 48" Shallow Softbox Kit (120V) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful soft light! I first saw this light in use at the Photoshop World Expo in Las Vegas a couple weeks ago. I was very impressed. I had to have one for my home studio. It was very easy to set up, nicely protected in the packaging, and Wow! First time turning it on it was as if a whole new world of lighting had opened up for me. Very nice soft light, and pretty much what you see in your subject before shooting is what you get on camera. I use this sometimes by itself and sometimes in combination with a strobe. Wonderful continuous light! I may just pick up another one. Now if only it were battery powered.....If it were, I would have given 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again! I use this product photographing babies and adults. It has a beautiful, soft light that is adjustable in intensity and easy to set up and break down. Previously, my strobes and their soft boxes were dangerous to take down because of the way the rods were practically spring loaded and very difficult to remove. I was always in fear of losing an eye. Not so with this soft box. I'm not sure if they have a case for this product that would allow me to transport it w/o taking each bulb from the fixture, but if they did and it was reasonable I would definitely purchase that as well!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Light Source for Newborns My main reason for this purchase was for newborn photography light. I prefer natural light on babies but sometimes it is not an option. This light is perfect for my needs. Not sure how durable it will be over time but main body of the TD6 is well made. Did question why there was 2 extra holes with no screws in their place but was told it came that way. Wish there are a hard travel/storage case to protect the lights and the spiderlite. I haven't found one yet. Color is perfect!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TD6 Spiderlite Review - after 1 session I've only used for one session so far - and it was a short video production (I typically shoot stills), and all I can say is: The heavens parted... the sun came out... and the angels sang! (cue the orchestral swell of music...) I can't wait to use it in my regular photo sessions as well as teaching applications. WYSIWYG light + yummy quality = happy girl. Was easy to set up - I'll typically use in combination with natural window light in my studio, as well as during basic photography classes that I teach.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Yes, I would buy this again. OK, have only had this for a week now, but can say that I am impressed. The light is pure, soft, cool, and daylight balanced.. and what you see, is what you get - takes all the guessing away regarding how shadows fall, etc. And, unlike strobes... this works for both stills and video.. very well. Glad I got the shallow softbox as it works well in small spaces. The only downside is that there is a bit of a hotspot in the center. Wish there was baffle, but in truth, it has not been a problem with any shooting. Softbox is large enough to give a truely soft and beautiful light. So, what is the downside... not much, except that the bulbs have to be removed from the head for takedown/transport... and since they are both expensive and breakable - caution is the word.. but its not insurmountable. I got the Deluxe carry case as well and it does a great job of providing room for stands, soft box, reflectors and bulbs. So far, I am a happy camper!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My clients love it!!!!! Been using White Lightning slave units for the past 12 years and taking nothing away from them (they are great) both my clients and I love the continuous daylight unit. Certainly helps with those that are prone to blinks when the slave units would go off and because of that my clients know there is no sudden flash coming so they are more relaxed as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top Quality Light Setup This light was exactly what I was looking for. Supplemental lighting for my natural light studio. Perfectly balance for daylight. Able to be modified for different intensities of light. Beautiful, large light source. It's basically a mobile window. Such a great addition to my studio. Will definitely expand my creative horizons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brighter than anticipated, good ISO I was suprised that I could get a 5.6 aperature 400 iso and 200 shutter in a dark room with 1 light so no worries about using this for newborns. Prolly great for kids too as was told not good for kids because of motion but that is a good speed I could push it with two lights being continuous no worries :)
