    LensCoat LCRSMNA reviews

RainCoat Medium Sleeve (Navy Blue) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 130.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Using a cover meant for Nikon long lens with smaller zoom lens Everything is great about the product. Just a warning to those who will use it in situations as mentioned in the 'Review Headline'. Since there will be some cloth gathering at the camera body lens mount area and the necessity to have this extra bulk tightened securely, one may need to operate a zoom lens from the outside of the protective cover rather than from the inside of it. In doing so there is the danger of accidentally disengaging the lens release button while zooming, as it happened to me, and in the process accidentally forcing the two mounts, body and lens, the wrong way. I so damaged my D750 lens mount. I'm sure it will need replacing!! Ouch!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Always wear a RainCoat. I have an AcquaTech Rain Cover with which it is almost impossible to operate my 5D+70-200mm lens combo, (that is if I can get the thing on the camera). Oh, and forget about a tripod and gimbal arrangement with that thing. The LensCoat RainCoat RS solves all of those problems perfectly. It will be my go-to rain cover from now on. I read some criticisms of it and cannot agree that they are valid from my point of view. When it starts to rain, you want to cover up your equipment, NOT START A PROJECT. No complaints from me, it is exactly what I expected for a super price. I would, however, suggest getting a cap to protect the lens when not shooting or when transporting in the rain. If this thing isn't enough protection, then you shouldn't be there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best of both worlds Small, light, good strong feeling fabric and versatile. I always have this in my bag, and after buying countless cheap plastic rain covers that are only really good for a few uses, this is much better long term economy. Even though the design is pretty basic, it works very well, it would fit a wide range of cameras and as it doesn't have plastic windows and 'better protection' at the back, it makes it a lot more useable. From experience, with expensive rain cover designed for pro-telephotos, the really high protection comes at a price, heavier, slower to put on and more difficult to change cards, batteries and camera settings. Best of both worlds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expanding my Possibilities I received my Raincoat and have tried it out. I live in windy, dusty and unpredictable Wyoming. I often hold back using my equipment due to wind (with plenty of dust)and unpredictable rain and snow. No more. This produce is light enough to take along anywhere and covers my camera and lens. The fit is very good and with the center wrap strap I need not worry about the wind blowing the cover out of place. I only wish it had a pocket for a hand warmer. I am often out in -10 to -20 deg weather shooting night photos. It would come in handy to be able to use a hand warmer to keep the equipment warm. All in all, a good buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Paid for itself after first use. It's been my experience that the LensCoat Rain Sleeve performs very well even in the toughest conditions. My job is to capture the moment in any environment no matter the condition. I've subjected my Nikon D4 with 70-200mm to several brutally punishing shoots. The Rain Sleeve allows me to keep shooting while the other guys are packing up their gear and going home. I've tried some other flimsy and disposable products but they always seem to fail, leaving me with broken equipment, wasted time and money. Lenscoat's Rain Sleeve is versatile, easy to use, and has earned it's place in protecting my gear.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Camera Protection You Can Trust After getting my gear soaked during a shoot, I decided to invest in a rain sleeve with substantially more protection then the less expensive and sometimes single use products offer. Am awaiting the next thunderstorm to put this to the true test but have full confidence that it will work as described. There is no plastic window for viewing your camera back, nor are their sleeves on the sides to insert your hands to make camera & lens adjustments. Access is gained through Velcro openings. The Velcro and cinching straps assure the protection from the elements you want.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It worked well in the Blizzard of 2016 The RainCoat RS did its job and my camera and lens (T4i/Canon 24-70mm) stayed dry during the snow and wind. There was room to manually zoom and otherwise manipulate settings. It actually helped keep my hands warm and dry. This rain sleeve was not made for any attachments like my remote trigger so that's something to consider. I am happy with my purchase.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from You Get What You Pay For Pros: -Great price -Easy to use -Solid, basic design Cons: -Poor build quality -Cheap materials used Unfortunately, I have to return my RainCoat RS. The front cinch strap broke literally the first time I used it (see pic). Overall, I like the design of the rain sleeve, but the materials used are not high quality. The sleeve itself is made of some sort of basic poly/nylon material. It works for shedding water and is relatively light weight, but it could save even more weight as well as add durability if they used a higher quality, waterproof material, like ones used on technical, waterproof jackets. Then again, this is probably the best priced rain sleeve out there, so you get what you pay for. Hopefully, my experience is just an isolated issue.
