Helping to balance exposure when working in high-contrast situations, the 100 x 150mm Hard Graduated Neutral Density 0.6 Filter from LEE Filters is specifically designed to selectively control brightness in difficult lighting. The filter's design places the 0.6, 2-stop density at the top of the filter and then transitions to clear by the center of the filter for a gradual, natural appearance. The hard-edge transition between the density and clear areas is well-suited for photographing scenes with an even, distinct horizon line, as well as when working with long or telephoto lenses. This filter is constructed from optical resin that is both durable and helps to maintain high clarity, and is compatible with the LEE 100mm filter holder.

Graduated neutral density places the most density at the edge of the filter and tapers to clear by the center of the filter in order to accommodate photographing scenes with large bright areas, such as a daytime sky.
Hard-edge transition between density and clear portions of the filter is suitable for photographing scenes with a distinct, well-defined horizon or line between light and shadow, and is also best-suited for use with a long or telephoto lens.
Neutral density 0.6 provides a 2-stop reduction in light in selective areas.
Constructed from optical resin for overall clarity and durability.
Compatible for use with the LEE 100mm filter holder.
Included filter pouch protects the filter when not in use.

    100 x 150mm Hard Graduated Neutral Density 0.6 Filter is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from One of a Set This is an addition to a set of gradated neutral density filters that i use for landscape photography. It is very effective for knocking down the brightness of skies in outdoor scenes. Can save hours of work by making near instant HDR images that look natural and not processed. Only down side is that these filters are easily scratched. Use coton gloves when handeling the filter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essential for outdoor photography No matter how good the dynamic range of your camera, bright skies still overwhelm an image without the use of a graduated ND filter. Use this when the horizon is well defined, or use a soft edge graduated ND filter when the horizon line is irregular (e.g. mountains in the frame). This style can be used with a mount that holds it in front of the lens, or you can hand hold it if your camera's on a tripod. Hand holding is actually less trouble. Either way that you mount it, this style of rectangular filter is far more versatile than the screw-in graduated ND filters because you can move it up and down, even rotate it to exactly match the bright areas. Plus, you only need to buy one to use for multiple lenses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I highly recommend Lee filters. I am a landscape photographer in SW Colorado and use graduated ND filters to balance exposure. The Lee filters work as advertised-flawlessly, but with a bit of a learning curve about which strength filter to use at the right time. My only gripe is with the supplied case. The filter fits in in horizontally which means I have to grab the filter in the middle to get it in and out of the case, leaving fingerprints where they may be visible. I like the SingRay case better which slides the filter in end-ways.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you can only buy one get this one I studied for some time trying to make a choice in manufacture, strength and hard or soft transition line to give the best overall results. ... seems much clearer than cheaper NDGrads I have purchased before. The 4x6 size is ideal for hand holding on full frame cameras with a wide angle lens. I really didn't want to buy but the one filter originally but the quality is so good that I feel I may need to invest in other strengths for various applications. Yes, I would buy another LEE.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It performed as well as expected I bought this filter for my trip to Iceland. I also bought the .6 soft edge, and the Lees 6 stop little stopper. My only regret is I wish I spent the extra dollars and got the lees holders as well, but the coken I bought worked well enough. I used this hard edge 3 ways, all with great success. By itself it was perfect on certain hard skyline horizon landscapes where all I wanted to do was darken the the top sky portion of the frame. I also used it the same way in same type of horizon setting while in conjunction with the Lees solid 6 stop Little Stopper used to slow down the water in my foreground. Lastly I also used it with my 2 stop soft edge grad, on certain sky lines along a coastline, where not only did I want the hard edge distinction in the sky but then also a smoothing with the soft edge to handle some of the surf washing up on shore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Buy Finally...the one thing missing from my camera bag was a graduated ND filter. I researched many filters and of course no one had anything bad to say about the Lee filters. They were right. I just finished shooting some sunset shots by the lake and the difference in my final images with this filter were outstanding.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again and again It's my first filter of this kind. It requires some attention while handling and inserting into the filter holder (I have fear to leave some dirty from my fingers on it...). I saw impressive pictures taken with those filters, I look forward to enjoy it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product! Brought this one to Rocky Mountain and it worked great! I didn't see any difference to the more expensive Singh-Ray product. The only concern is the thickness is different to the soft edge version. It becomes a little bit tight when mounted on the holder.
