The Luxbanx Duo Extra Large Rectangular Softbox from Impact is a versatile 54 x 72" light shaping tool for strobe, LED, and fluorescent lights. When using the Luxbanx Duo with strobes, both the front diffuser and inner baffle can be used for maximum softening of the output. When using it with hot lights the inner baffle should be removed. Open face lights can be used as is but it's recommended that you use the flood setting rather than spot on Fresnel sources. The softbox has 4 forward-opening vents to dissipate heat. Impact Duo Extra Large Rectangular Overview

The Luxbanx Duo Extra Large Rectangular Softbox from Impact is a versatile 54 x 72" light shaping tool for strobe, LED, and fluorescent lights. It's also useable with quartz lights up to 2000W due to its heat-resistant, textured silver interior. Removing the front and inner diffuser essentially turns the Luxbanx Duo into a large reflector with maximum brightness and contrast.

The versatile Luxbanx Duo has an additional control via an optional fabric grid which mounts to the recessed lip of the softbox with touch-fasteners. The grid narrows and concentrates the light's beam forward, controlling spill light and adding directional control to the Luxbanx Duo's attributes. The ample surface area and rectangular shape of the softbox make it ideal for large sets, groups, full length fashion, and large product work. Every Luxbanx comes with a carrying case and a spare Flex Rod. Separate purchase of a speed ring that matches your light's mount is required for use. Impact makes models to fit most popular brands.

When using hot lights, the inner baffle should be removed. This Luxbanx Duo is not recommended for use with high intensity Fresnel lights.

Impact Duo Extra Large Rectangular Reviews

It  is ok but handling is a problem

As a softbox it is great. It has problems with the handling due to its size and its weight. I have not yet found the proper setup for it. the C stand and large lightstands cannot properly hold it. Also the swivel of the AD600 godox or other heads I have cannot hold it in place. Still figuring this out.

Good for price point

The light will do the job, but it has poor build quality and will not last very long.

Not as robust as Chimera, but boy the low price!

Definitely made from an less-robust reflective vinyl material vs. Chimera's Heat resistant cordura nylon fabric, but this is such a large unit I'm fairly sure that any hot lights will be far enough away to avoid melting... hopefully. So for my intended use- sporadically and under supervision, I think these will be ok for few years. Unlike my Chimera Brand Lightbanks which I have pushed extremely hard (over wattage and on all day totally closed vents, hundreds of assembly'take down cycles, etc) and are still in great shape after 10+ years on location... These Lux Banks won't last like that but at 1/3 the price they are a welcome option. My rods are already bent after one day of use, probably because of the heavy stresses on such a large bank. Heavier rods would be a huge improvement, especailly if one intended to use a fabric eggcrate on this (I would not attempt as it would def sag). I'm looking forward to trying some of LuxBank's large striplights!

Good improvement

It's a good improvement over the old soft boxes we've been using for years.

I bought the Impact 54X72 softbox to use with my Aputure LS 300D II and it works amazing! The build of the Impact softbox is great. I was worried that since it was heavy that it wouldn’t work well with my light. I had it on my light for 12hrs in the studio and it never moved once.

question

Will this work with Bowens S Mount?
Asked by: Tim
Yes; if you purchase the Impact Speed Ring for Impact, Bowens S, Westcott & Aputure, B&H # IMSRIMPV2, it would allow you to use the Impact Luxbanx Duo Extra Large Rectangular Softbox (54 x 72 ), B&H # IMLBRDXL, with a light fixture that has a Bowens S-mount for light modifier usage.

question

I would like to use this softbox on an Interfit EXD400 strobe but can not find a speed ring. Any recommendations?
Asked by: Barbara V.
Since the Interfit EXD series heads accept an Elinchrom style mount, you would be able to use the Impact Speed Ring for Elinchrom EL & Impact EX, B&H # IMSRELI. Please see the image below for reference.

question

How do you put fluorescent lights in this
Asked by: Harshi B.
The fluorescent light would need to have a speed ring built into it or one that can be attached in order to use this softbox. One such fixture is the Westcott Spiderlite TD6 (110VAC) B&H # WETD6.

Will this work with an Arri M18, in terms of heat and speed ring size? (1800W draw, 13" scrim size) Is there a recommended speed ring on B&H?
Asked by: Alex
No. You would need a different softbox that can take a larger ring that will fit the m18 opening such as Chimera OctaPlus Speed Ring for Quartz and Daylight Fixtures (13.5") BH #CH9305OP which can be used with Chimera Quartz Plus 1 Bank - Large - 54x72" (137x183cm) B&H # CHQP1BL.

I tried it today but the setup is kind of difficult. Looking to understand how others use/store it. I wanted it so I can take full body shots in white background. I used my smallest (but still decent) stand and the stand does not allow it to reach to the floor (too high) so I had to hold it with a couple of boxes on the front of the softbox. It is too heavy for the AD600 to be able to hold it, another reason for the 2 cardboard boxes. Also how do you store it? Any photos of your setup ? Thanks in advance for any input

Photographers usually use a C-Stand with a sand bag.
