Impact Luxbanx Duo Large Strip Softbox (24 x 78")

This is the biggest Strip softbox I've ever seen! I needed something that will provide a large amount of lighting coverage and without excess light spill going to the sides as it happens with square or octagon softboxes, even with a grid on...The Luxbank Dual Large softbox will DO! . This size and narrow shape is particularly useful, especially for product photography such as photographing vases or any tall item. Also great for doing artistic headshots. And for even more control, install a grid. Now... This grid retails for almost a hundred bucks. At the time of this review, BH is including it free, until they decide to change, so get this softbox now while the grid is included because it normally isn't. The material this softbox is made of is to be used also with halogen lighting, up to 1500 watts besides just LED, so, there's some weight to deal with. I have included some pictures that illustrates well, being useful to you. Make sure to check them out. This product also features pockets for ventilation. The best way to mount it on your light is to aim the light at the ceiling, and then install the softbox in a drop like fashion instead of attempting to install it with the light in vertical. It's a piece of cake doing it this way, and works with any speed ring, any large softbox. This is not my first softbox of this kind so I have experience with them. I have a full size square one which is even heavier, so proceed with caution and you're good. The Luxbanx Duo Large Strip Softbox (24 x 78) softbox is not for hobbyists or enthusiasts, nor it is for flimsy lighting fixtures or light stands. And not all light fixtures will be able to handle a modifier this heavy. Lighting fixtures that has large teeth and without any rubber, will be the most recommended. I'm primarily using this softbox for studio strobes. I also tried it on a Genaray Powerhouse 300 watt LED, which has teeth, but also has rubber in between. The Powerhouse is a little fragile to receive a modifier this heavy. The advantage of the Genaray Powerhouse is, it has a long and flat body, so, I installed a decently heavy sandbag on its back to counterweight. Worked perfectly. The softbox is balanced without being only front heavy, decreasing much of the weight stress. Just be careful, gentle and slow down while mounting, pay attention to what you're doing it and you'll have zero problems. You can also suspend this softbox in the ceiling as it has a rope loop on top on both sides. When mounted on a light stand reaches about 7' high so you will need a ladder to install the grid. I also recommend that you add the diffusers with it mounted as well instead of on the floor. When breaking it down, keep the rods and diffusers ON it. Removing all those every time is just silly. I wish the bag that came with is was slightly a little longer, as it was apparently designed to hold the softbox completely disassembled. I managed to fit it inside the bag with everything but it will require some ta;emt from you to get that back in. But the other softbox I have from another brand has the same issue. Bag too small :( Before this softbox got here, I already knew what I'm getting since I read all specs and already owned similar ones equal to this. It is a huge item, perfect for large, beautiful lighting, artistic headshots and more... and accepts hot lights. Another GREAT use for this softbox is shooting tall, reflective items with chrome details, or glass, such as wine glass, beer, etc. For a truly professional result, you already have this softbox that gives you a lot of coverage, but you will need to get a secondary level of diffusion by placing a collapsible diffuser in front of the softbox to make the hint of the softbox being reflected disappear and not being seen at those surfaces, thus, making the light extremely soft. This extra diffusion layer applies to any softbox, not just this one. Very happy with this item. But it would be nice if Impact made the same exact softbox of the same huge size, but without the heavy fabric for LED lighting only. The weight would be substantially less and would be suitable to most light fixtures to handle. [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review]
