The Swarovski ATS-80 20-60x80mm HD Spotting Scope with Eyepiece (Angled Viewing) has an arca-type foot and so can fit in any tripod that accepts arca-type plates. Additionally there is a 1/4"-20 threading on bottom which is compatible with most tripods.

We currently own a Vortex Viper 20-60x85 spotting scope. Does the Swarovski provide a much brighter view especially at 60x?
Asked by: Mark D
The Swarovski ATS-80 20-60x80mm HD Spotting Scope with Eyepiece (Angled Viewing) has much better optical quality compared to a Vortex scope. It is a matter of opinion but many people feel that Swarovski optics are the best of the European made brands. The increased sharpness and contrast helps for better viewing in low light compared to lower cost scopes.

What are the advantages of 80mm Swaroski scope and the 65mm?
Asked by: James
The larger the diameter the brighter the image. It becomes a factor if your primary viewing time is per dawn or post sunset. During normal day hours thew smaller 65mm is more than adequate.

I am considering the purchase of a UV filter to use on this scope. Would using a UV filter help reduce the blue cast at 60x?
Asked by: Mark D
When using the Swarovski ATS-80 20-60x80mm HD Spotting Scope with Eyepiece, a UV filter like the Hoya 82mm NXT Plus UV Filter BH #HOUVNP82, will help reduce the "blue cast" at 60X.

What is difference in magnification between the 65mm and the 80mm?
Asked by: James
Hello James, Magnification is determined by the eyepiece (20-60 or 25-50 Wide Angle), and there is no difference in magnification between the 65 or 80 as a result. The 65 will be lighter, while the 80 will produce a brighter, higher quality image. Best Regards, David Eickelmann, Swarovski Optik.
