    Ruggard PBB-235B reviews

Thunderhead 35 DSLR & Laptop Backpack (Black) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 84.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Going to Scotland We will be going to Scotland this year. The Thunderhead backpack has enough room for a Pentax 645 NII, 3 lenses, 2 extra film inserts, filters,15 rolls of film and a cable shutter release. In addition it will hold my Leica X2, electronic view finder, battery charger, extra battery and memory cards. The laptop compartment will hold my Pentax 645 owner,s manual, which is quite large and my Leica owner,s manual. My tripod mounts on the side of the backpack very securely. And in addition it is small enough to carry aboard the aircraft. After some adjustments the pack fits perfectly and essays to carry.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too Bulky If you want a bag that has an insane amount of storage and padding then this is it. However for me, all that storage and padding made this bag way to bulky. The shoulder and waist straps are too padded and too big in general, feels like your being hugged by a bear when you put this backpack on. Also, it just doesn't rest right on the shoulders and doesn't really lay flat against my back, not to mention there are way too many clips and straps hanging on the outside which makes that bag look sloppy. Plenty of storage and very well made, just too bulky for my liking. I sent it back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feels solid and comfortable I wanted something that I could use as a carry-on when traveling for both camera gear and my laptop/tablet. After lots of online research, I arrived at this, and so far it seems like a great choice. It's comfortable, not too heavy, roomy and versatile. The laptop/tablet hybrid slides into the pocket next to my back, even with its case on. And there is plenty of room for the camera with lens attached and multiple other lenses. The construction feels solid, too. Sturdy feeling zippers. I like it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable and Spacious Not only can I fit my Camera, but my laptop, tripod, and the equipment all fit perfectly inside. I am also someone who like to take my equipment on the plane with me so the fact that it fit underneath the seat with all of my gear inside made it that much better!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome for protecting your equipment! I have a Nikon D800E an I have that plus 3 lenses that are well padded and protected. The back pack is small and lightweight and adjusts easily so I can carry it comfortably. I have significant back and neck problems and this is great for carrying my equipment and keeping me hands-free. The laptop area is next to your back and can be uncomfortable for someone my size (I am only 5 ft tall), but it is tolerable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ideal Backpack After an enormous amount of research into a camera bag where I traded off shoulder bags, sling bags and backpacks, this one fit all my needs. I needed sufficient room for my camera and lenses such that I would not have to change lenses just to put the camera away. Additional storage is extremely good for all my equipment plus a laptop. I don't often carry one but it is additional storage for me. The bag is very well made and very comfortable. The front strap from left to right shoulder strap, adds stability and extra comfort and is very easy to attach and remove. The bag is huge for storage and small for carrying!! Some bags put the tripod storage covering access but here, it is on the side and only needs to be removed when you want to use it. An additional plus is the ability to remove and store the camera just by partially opening the access zippers without having to lay the bag down. My only complaint, if I had any, is that I would like to have the laptop compartment optional (removable internally?) to provide just a little more depth for vertical vs horizontal mount of some intermediate lenses. Otherwise - an excellent, well made choice for a backpack and great value for the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Daytripper's Dream Over the past year I have been substantially building out my digital kit in addition to MF film. This necessitated a new gear bag that could hold the entire digital kit--yet was lightweight and comfortable enough to travel anywhere on foot. Another backpack was in order. My requirements were compact in size and a comfortable profile, easily configurable interior, and ample space for a small tablet computer and all of the gizmos that might be needed while photographing the urban environment. In the ordinary brands that I am familiar with, everything was either too small or large, or insisted I stuff the camera in the side. The Ruggard Thunderhead 35 solved all of this. Very well constructed out of what appear to be high quality materials--I have this configured for a Nikon D7100, three zoom lenses (one on the body), a largish Sigma speedlight, filters, and all of the cleaning and goodies that live in a camera bag. It adjusts easily, and wears well for extended periods. The waist belt can be clipped behind the bag when it is not wanted. Carrying a monopole is simple business--a small lightweight tripod fits and balances nicely on the side. A set of D rings on the shoulder straps allow OP/Tech straps to be attached, and eliminate the need for a seperate camera strap. I am quite impressed, and have been out every day with this bag. Although costing more than some other larger solutions, it is worth what I paid and I expect to see many years of service from it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Always take the scenic route This is a very well made camera backpack. Has great cushioned shoulder straps so your arms never get sore. The great thing about this camera bag is that it also provides lots of space for multiple lens, two cameras, memory cards, extra gear and an additional seperate space for my laptop. It also has velco straps that provide great support for attaching your tripod when you are not using it. Its a perfect size and is not cumbersome or overbearing. Just the right size with lots of space.
