    Ruggard PBB-275B reviews

Thunderhead 75 DSLR & Laptop Backpack (Black) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 87.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Product I purchased this bag because I added the Nikon 200-500 lens which is quite large. Besides my D600 in the bag I have a 70-300, an 85 prime, a 50 prime, 35 prime, a 24-85, 2 pocket wizards, flash, room for light meter, filters, and air cleaner with some creative stacking all in the main area. Quite a few thinner pockets for manuals and odds and ends. While all that gear is a good deal of weight the bag distributes it nicely. Extra padding on the side straps is nice too. I haven't put my 17 inch lap top yet. Happy with the capacity can't wait to give it a serious test.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bigger than you think, carries it all. Ok, the only reason I am giving this 4 instead of 5 stars is that it is clearly designed as the big carrier and should have a lock incorporated into it somewhere. Here's what I put inside. 2 Nikon D810's w/ battery grips. 16-35 f4 VR, 50mm f1.4, 80-200mm f2.8, 105mm f2.8macro, and the big 200-500mm f5.6 vr - All nikon. Plus, 4 extra batteries, the Watson dual charger, lee filters (big stopper +2 others) 2 remotes, 2 cases for memory cards, an iPad AirPad2, a 15 laptop and usually a book. I used this for getting all my gear from point A (home) to point B (destination of my trip) before I use a smaller easier bag to run around with. It is big enough for all that gear, well stuffed and secure and so far no problems. No bag in the world is going to make that much weight feel like cotton balls floating above you, but it is comfortable for what it is and as such I recommend it heartily if this is the sort of thing you are looking to use it for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased with this purchased. I had a smaller backpack type case for my camera that I had used for many years and had simply outgrown it. I was looking for something large and rugged that I could use for just about everything and this backpack was perfect. It is very large and spacious. You could probably fit one of those Smart cars inside it. It is big! It is also very rugged and well constructed. I use mine for long hikes through rough terrain and it holds up fine. Very sturdy, comfortable to wear, and the build in rain cover is easily deployed when needed. All in all, I am very happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone looking for a large and rugged backpack to hold lots of camera gear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't Underestimate This Bag! This bag was purchased to meet a specific purpose for my shooting needs. I was looking into something along similar lines of the Lowepro 400AW and this fit the bill. This is not a small bag by any means and really is meant for going out into the field and not trying to maneuver in crowds or on public transportation. It will hold all of what is listed in the product description and is made of high quality durable material that will withstand the rigors of the field.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bag for lots of gear. My last bag finally died after 10 years of use. I picked this bag for the price and felt it would be a good fit for the amount of gear I have. So far (only had it a few weeks) I am very happy with it. It holds everything I need it to, and the overall quality is great. I feel it to be a great choice. To critique it a little, the main compartment dividers could use a little more Velcro on them to keep them in place more solidly, but all-in-all they work fine. Also, some of the smaller pocket zippers are a little on the light duty side, the main zipper is pretty heavy duty. The design and layout of it work great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All I expected and more This bag is huge, it holds a ton of equipment. 2 DSLR with grip, Tamron 24-70 mm f/2.8, Canon 70-300 mm f/3.5 L IS USM, Sigma 10-20 mm f/2.8, 2 flash units, batteries and chargers, field guides, cables, just about everything and more you would need for an all-day shoot. Comes with a rain cover, tripod/monopod straps, waist harness, security whistle..can be modified to carry an attached 150-600 mm long lens. I love this bag, it gets heavy but it is durable. Not easy to walk around in crowds due to the bulk but the zippers are sturdy and my gear is secured. I love this bag; probably not for smaller frame people; I am 6'4 255 and can tote this for hours. Great if you just want to pack your gear and drive to locations.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A lot of bag for the buck! This is seemingly pretty similar to most backpacks this size and layout. Flexible; you can configure it in many different ways. What I did not like was the lack of a side handle, there is only the top handle. This makes it more difficult to manhandle if it is stored/transported on its side. For a beach shoot recently I was able to pack the following; two 5 series bodies, 70-200/2.8, 135/2, 200/2, some smaller lenses, and some Speedlites. It got heavy, but it was still doable. So this is certainly a very flexible bag. It is also easy to work out of. And as a deal of the day it is certainly a lot of bag for the buck!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Monster pack I've had this pack for about two years now and wanted to wait until I really put it through the paces to writer a review. Like many others, I have a basement full of packs which have either not served the purpose (a landscape photographer who scrambles all over the woods and shoreline) or I've outgrown due to gear. The Rugged 75 serves both purposes wonderfully. Tons of room in this pack - I have a Canon 5Ds with battery grip, 7 lenses, flash, filters, and various other items comfortably in the pack. It's built like a tank. I've banged this thing over and over and gear is fully protected. I like the full-size shoulder straps and hip belt - not wimpy like other packs. It also nicely handles a tripod and ball head. Lots of little pockets to stow away small things as well. If you're looking for a pack that can haul all your gear, the kitchen sink...and maybe even the living room...this is your best choice.
