The receiver nut simply screws onto the binocular and the adapter snaps into it, allowing it to be set on a tripod. When the adapter is removed, the nut remains nestled between the optical tubes so there are no protruding parts to cause snags or to interfere with uses most cases or pouches. For those who use multiple binoculars, additional receiver nuts are available separately for quick swaps without the need to remove and mount multiple adapters.
The main part of the adapter is equipped with a standard 1/4"-20 tripod socket for use on most photo/video/field tripods and heads, and it's compatible with Manfrotto 200PL quick release heads — no QR plates required.
