Audio-Technica ATW-1101 overview

  • 1Description

The ATW-1101 System 10 from Audio-Technica is a digital wireless package that includes the ATW-R1100 digital receiver and the ATW-T1001 UniPak pocket transmitter. The system can be completed by adding an Audio-Technica Wireless Essentials series microphone or instrument cable. The ATW-1101 uses 24-bit, 48 kHz digital audio and operates free from TV interference in the 2.4 GHz frequency range. Built for expandability, you can use up to eight systems simultaneously.

When completed with a compatible Audio-Technica mic, the ATW-1101 system can be used to accommodate a wide variety of wireless applications. Choose from a selection of clip-on lavalier and headworn mics for speakers and singers, as well as clip-on instrument microphones to be used with horns, acoustic guitars and more. There are also instrument cables available for electric guitarists and bassists. The compatible mic or cable plugs into the included ATW-T1001 transmitter using a 4-pin UniPak connector. Designed to fit discretely into your pocket, the ATW-T1001 transmits the wireless signal to the included ATW-R1100 digital receiver which plugs into your mixer, sound system or amplifier depending on the application.

The ATW-1101 wireless system is engineered to quickly find the best signal possible, utilizing an automatic frequency selection function that chooses open bands for you when you "pair" your transmitter with the receiver. Also designed to combat interference, the ATW-1101 uses three different diversity techniques. Using frequency diversity, the system sends the wireless signal on two separate channels simultaneously and chooses the one with the clearest signal. It also transmits the signal across multiple intervals in time in order to fight multipath interference. This is known as time diversity. Furthermore, the system also makes use of space diversity, choosing between the receiver's dual antennas depending on which is picking up the best signal integrity.

Compatible with the PRO 8HEcW and ATW-1101/H92-TH headworn mics, the MT830cW lavalier mic, the AT-GcW guitar cable and others
Balanced XLR output on receiver allows for connection to microphone level inputs on mixers
Unbalanced 1/4" output on receiver for connecting to guitar amp
Level controls on transmitter and receiver
Pair indicator illuminates on receiver when synced with transmitter
AF Peak indicator on receiver allows you to monitor the input stage on the transmitter for clipping

    Audio-Technica ATW-1101 reviews

ATW-1101 System 10 Digital Wireless Receiver and Pocket Transmitter is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from WIFI Trouble We have a least 10 UHF RF systems at our church. Thought we would get a System 10 to escape the crowded RF of our area. Worked with it almost a year now. The receiver is mounted 20 feet, line of site, from the speaking position - absolute best case set up! Sadly, The system Drops Out on an irregular basis, the only good thing is there is no audible click. This happens when anyone uses a Laptop or Ipad on the podium. A smart phone in a pocket of the person using the TX can cause the same problems. Even tried forcing other devices into 5.0Ghz ONLY. This did not help. Tried a friends System 10 and had same problems. I personally think the 2.4Ghz radio in TX is not powerful enough. Either way this system is not ready for professional applications. Sorry, love all your other products

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sounds great but.... the quality of sound is very good, but the microphone is almost un usable. If it is not in a mic stand and is being held in the hand you can hear every little movement of the fingers and hands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, just what I needed. I bought these to use for a variety of purposes, but mostly for speech. My wife is the one who primarily uses these and she is not a techie. I wanted microphones with clear signal that were very easy to set up and use. These have been exactly that. We travel with these and never know what the environment will be like. We have never had problems with poor signal or interference in the year we have had them. The lavaliers are a little delicate and we treat them as such so have never had any issues. If your treat your equipment with care it will serve you well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Wireless Mic The system has excellent quality and I have had no interference problems with it. I was getting a little extra white noise at one venue, but it ended up being an EQ issue that was resolved on the board. Otherwise, the system has served me well for both live music and DJ'ing weddings. Speeches sound just as good as live vocals over a 6 piece band. Looking to buy another system soon!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound Lavalier model. Installed in small church, mic up front, receiver way in back. No interference, good signal, good sound. Lapel clip not as pictured. Wire spring on lapel clip that's supposed to hold mic lacks springiness, so just threaded wire through clip. Oh well. Set up easy, works great, good signal, no noise, no interference. Like the mute button feature on transmitter.
