Key Features
- Mobile Journalist, Vlogger, Run & Gun
- For Cameras and Portable Recorders
- 100-Hr Run Time via 9V Battery
- Selectable Pad and Bass Roll-Off
Compared to the smaller VideoMic GO, the Rode VideoMic camera-mount shotgun microphone offers battery powering, extended low-end response, and customizable audio settings. Its switchable pad and bass roll-off optimize it for mobile journalists, vloggers, and run-and-gun shooters in loud or rumble-heavy environments.
This shotgun microphone features an integrated shockmount that mounts directly to your DSLR, mirrorless, or video camera and reduces noise from vibrations and camera handling. The windscreen design reduces wind noise, making it well suited for outdoor shoots. The attached 3.5mm TRS cable ensures easy hookup to your camera, and the dual-mono output means that no channel selection is necessary on your recording device.

question
Hi, does this work with a Pentax K3?
no experience with that Pentax; have used with Canon T5i... as long as you have a mic in, you ought to be fine. It clips to the common hot-shoe on top of a dslr. Hope that helps!

question
Is the suspension system still any good when mounted with the Vello - CB-510 on the side of a camcorder?
I use this on a Canon DSLR, and unfortunately, it transmits all the autofocus noise into the mic when mounted on the flash shoe. If I'm not using a tripod, and moving while filming, I have to carry the mic in hand, off camera. I've tried several modifications and nothing has worked. I can only have the mic on camera when in manual focus, such as static situations like recording a speaker at a podium.
