Designed primarily for use in lighting kits, this Matthews Light/Heavy Double Riser Kit Stand is compact and light weight. Many MSE Kit Stands employ a brake shoe system for locking off the riser tubes as opposed to pinch castings, thus permitting the use of heavier fixtures.

Matthews Light/Heavy Double Riser Reviews
Great...considering They're Aluminum
The Stands Are The Usual Matthews Quality And Work Great, Until The Lower Riser Tube Gets Out Of Round. This Aluminum Version Is 2.5 Lbs Lighter Than The 9.5 Foot Steel Version And When You're Lugging It Up Stairs In August, That's Noticable. If You Are Keeping These In A Kit Box, You'll Be Delighted For A Very Long Time. If You're Using Them Out Of A Grip Truck And Throwing Them Onto A Cart With Power Cables, Sandbags, And Other Stuff, You Run The Risk Of Dinging The Lower Riser Tube. When That Happens, The Tolerances Of The Clamping Collars Make It Almost Impossible To Open Or Close. That Said, We Used Ours For About Two Years Before The Damage Showed Up. Choose Between Durability, Wieght & A Foot Higher Vs. Less Durability & Less Weight.
Great stand
It's stronger and beefier than pictured, which is a good thing since that's what I needed.
