FotodioX M42-LM Overview

The FotodioX M42 Pro Lens Adapter with Built-In Iris Control for Leica M-Mount Cameras is a high quality adapter that allows you to mount a M42 mount lens to a Leica M-mount camera body. It features an aluminum-alloy construction with a hard anodized finish as well as the ability to focus to infinity. Additionally, this adapter features built-in iris control for manually changing the aperture of the lens.

Although the lens will physically fit, automatic lens control and functions will not operate correctly while using this adapter. You can utilize aperture priority mode in combination with stop-down metering for automatic exposure control on your camera.

Item title is inaccurate: this adapter has no iris control mechanism. Its simple M42 / LM adapter works fine. So I was able to try a few used M42 lenses. Not a fan of using LiveView / EVF or zone focus rather than rangefinder focusing, but it was worth buying this to try some different lenses.

I’m looking to adapt a Helios 44-2 lens to my Leica M10 monochrom camera. I think this will work, but confused about this adapter saying things about working aperture, as that the lenses I’m looking to use all have manual aperture control on the lens itself... Is this the correct adapter for me?

this adapter is made to take M42 lenses to Leica M camera , the aperture is controlled true the lens , there will be no info on the data of what f-stop used when taken the shot

WE cannot test that lens specifically but the FotodioX M42 Pro Lens Adapter with Built-In Iris Control for Leica M-Mount Cameras will adapt most M42 mount lenses to a Leica M mount camera.

Will this work with a Mamiya/Sekor f2 50mm lens? The issue is the extended post at the bottom of the lens.

Yes it will..there is an internal ring that will press aperture pin on M42 mount lens..depending on your lens your distance scale and such might not align in the exact center of camera...There are a few set screws you can loosen and reposition lens and re-tighten..
