LensCoat Pro Overview

For protecting your camera and telephoto lens from the elements, use the RainCoat 2 Pro Camera Cover (Navy) from LensCoat. This product affords easy access to camera and lens controls while deflecting water, snow, salt spray, dust, sand, and dirt. Constructed from a lightweight waterproof and breathable poly tricot material with tape-sealed seams, this cover also features an integrated storage pocket and left side foldaway arm sleeve for easy access to lens controls and manual focus operation. This RainCoat 2 Pro is designed for use with DSLR cameras with 200-400mm, 300mm f/2.8, or 800mm-sized lenses. A hood extension sleeve is included for complete coverage of 600mm and 800mm lenses with attached hoods.

Cinch straps are incorporated into the front and rear of the cover for adjusting the fit of the case to your specific lens. The two side pockets both reveal foldaway arm sleeves for protected access to your camera. The rear of the cover can also be exposed if complete access is needed, and the bottom of the case features a hook-and-loop fastened seam for attaching a tripod. This product is made in the USA.

This version comes in a solid navy blue color.
Pro size is ideally suited for DSLRs with 200-400mm, 300mm f/2.8, and longer prime telephoto lenses up to 800mm. The hood extension sleeve provides full coverage of 600mm and 800mm lenses when using them with their hoods attached.
Cinch straps adjust the total cover length by folding the material over itself and keeping the cover snug on variable sized lenses.
Lightweight, waterproof, and breathable poly tricot material with tape-sealed seams protects the lens and camera from rain, snow, salt spray, dirt, sand, and dust.
No-slip rubber is added to the front section to provide a solid grip on the lens hood without the use of a bungee cord.
Two integrated side pockets reveal foldaway arm sleeves for easy access to camera and lens controls.
A hook-and-loop closure runs along the bottom of the cover to permit the use of a tripod or monopod, as well as manual focus control of the lens barrel.
The size and shape of the rear opening can be adjusted for greater protection or for easier control access. This cover does not require the use of a dedicated eyepiece.
A mesh storage pouch is included for packing the cover when not in use.
Compatible with optional LensCoats, Hoodie lens caps, and camera BodyGuards.

It's big.

Seems ok

I haven't yet used this in wet conditions, but it seems to be well-made. It is definitely much, much baggier than the photos suggest. (Like wearing a XXL rainjacket when you are 5'4 and 125lbs.) There is one extra piece that came with the main Raincoat but I can't figure out what it would be used for as this covers my Nikon D500 and 200-500 lens just fine, but it is way bigger than my set up needs. I purchased the LensCoat as well. I wish that they had built a way to tether it to the RainCoat so that I wouldn't have to worry about putting it in my pocket while using the camera. Good product overall.

Well constructed

Although I need to get caught up in the rain, this seems to be what I will be happy that I purchased. I have done test-runs with fitting it to my gear and as we all know, practice is what gets us to Carnegie Hall. Don’t wait for a rainstorm to whip it out.

Bad QC

Great Quality

This is typical quality from Lens Coat. I have a lot of their products and have never been disappointed. You can access your camera body from the back, you can access the focus or zoom through the sleeve and if you don't want to use the sleeves on either side, you can use them as pockets. My only complaint is as a wildlife photographer, we are always battling weight allowances and this little unit takes up a lot of room and a lot of weight based on what it is. That being said, it is also protecting your most valuable assets while on safari...So, I will just take a couple fewer shirts I suppose. :)

I would purchase this product again

Other than long lenses I have a few wide angle lenses (Like Nikon 14-24 and Nikon 8-15) can this raincoat be adjusted in case I would want to use one of the small lenses?
Asked by: Elad
It would be pretty awkward. The cover is 29" long, which fits my 600mm well. The fat end is 13" in diameter. There's a lot of material there. However, there is a Velcro seam along the entire bottom of the lens. You could probably manage to bunch up most of the fabric under your gear. What I would do instead is to pirate the shower cap from the next hotel in which you stay and use that for your shorties.

will this work with the wimberley gimbal?

will this work with the wimberley gimbal?
Asked by: Khody
In theory, since there is an opening for the lens collar/foot, it should work. In practice though, it might be a little cumbersome to use and balance when on the Wimberley gimbal. I'd recommend practicing/attempting to balance lens on your gimbal at home before taking it out onto the field.

question

Will the LCRC2PM4 fit the Canon5DM4 with the 100-400mm II Usm with the 1.4 extender with the Wimberley Sidekick gimbal on a RRS ballhead? I also use the Tamron 150-600 lens and would like one raincoat to fit both.

I have a Nikon 200-500 zoom and bought the large one. It is big for my lens so I'm sure it would fit

How well does this fit the Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary? Would the Raincoat 2 Standard be a better fit (although I fear it might be slightly too small)?

question

I have a Nikon 810 with a Tamron 150-600mm G2. Does anyone have experience with this lens and this specific LensCoat RainCoat 2 Pro Camera Cover? If so, does it cover the entire setup?
Asked by: Ron
I use this with a canon 7d mark ii and 5d mark 3. Great choice if you cannot afford Canon 500mm or 600mm Prime , these are the best lens by far even if they are used.Only problem with G2 I did not like was adding a 1.4 converter with it.They might have improved on the 1.4 by nowJust remember you need more light with the G2 Have fun
