Atomos Releasing HDMI-Only Ninja TX GO 5.2” Monitor/Recorder

Atomos just announced a new monitor-recorder: the Ninja TX GO. It’s a 5.2” HDMI-only version of the Ninja TX that can capture video in a variety of codecs, including Apple ProRes, ProRes Raw, Avid DNx, H.265, H.264, and NDI 6 HX3. The TX Go can record up to 6K at 30p to CFexpress Type B cards or an SSD connected via USB-C. It also boasts Wi-Fi connectivity for streaming video out or sending clips to the cloud via ATOMOSphere, Frame.io, or Dropbox. Expect the same punchy 1500 cd/m² 5.2” touchscreen display as the original Ninja TX, with 1920 x 1080 resolution and support for HDR.

The Ninja TX GO does feature camera control and tap-to-focus for an array of modern mirrorless cameras (check the Atomos site for specific compatibility), and can be color calibrated using a Calibrite ColorChecker Display Pro or Plus. Like the Ninja TX, the TX GO is powered via USB-C, an NP-F battery, or a separately available AC adapter.

Both the original TX and the TX GO support simultaneous proxies, alongside a suite of monitoring tools including higher-end offerings like EL Zone and ARRI False Color. The Ninja TX GO lacks the AirGlu timecode sync integration that the original TX has, and the removal of the SDI port means no more cross converting between HDMI and SDI. The original Ninja TX is also capable of 8K 30p ProRes RAW, versus 6K 30p with the Ninja TX GO.
