Mackie has a stellar reputation for supplying musicians, producers, and performers with streamlined, easy-to-use mixers that sport comprehensive feature sets and deliver professional-level sound quality without breaking the bank. Recently the brand has expanded its lineup with some new streaming mixers, including the DLZ Creator XS, the MainStream Interface, and the MobileMix, along with version-3+ updates to its popular ProFX series of mixer/interfaces, the ProFX6v3+, ProFX10v3+, and ProFX12v3+.
DLZ Creator XS
Mackie’s DLZ Creator XS takes the terrific feature set from the full-sized DLZ Creator and shrinks it down for smaller, 1- or 2-person podcasts, giving you two mic preamps with up to 80 dB of gain and all the automated mix functions that speed up your workflow, including MixAgent, Automatic Gain, and Auto-Mix. A 7" color touchscreen, 9 knobs, 6 pads, and additional buttons provide tactile, intuitive control over your session. Choose from three different working modes, depending on your style and needs; Easy Mode provides fast no-fuss results, the Enhanced Mode offers limited parameter options for quick and easy customization, and the Pro Mode offers complete control for experienced users. Record your work to a USB flash drive, the built-in microSD card reader, or a computer via USB. New to the DLZ Creator system is the NDI protocol, which supports dual streaming setups via Ethernet.
Mainstream Live Streaming and Video Capture Interface
For more basic gaming and streaming needs, Mackie’s MainStream interface provides a quick and easy way to integrate video, audio, and stream control in one unit. In addition to the single XLR/TRS combo input, it offers an HDMI input with video capture card, and an HDMI pass-through for your monitor so you can stream live and game at high quality. Additional connections allow you to incorporate USB mics and devices, a chat headset, smartphone, headphones, and speakers.
MobileMix
For musicians and technical content creators looking for a portable streaming and recording solution that can accommodate multiple microphones and inputs, Mackie has created the MobileMix, an 8-channel live sound and streaming mixer featuring Bluetooth, 2-band channel EQs, and reverb effects. Plug mic, line, or Hi-Z sources into the two XLR/TRS inputs with available phantom power, while an additional stereo ¼" input feeds channels 3 and 4. Three headphone jacks are provided, while dedicated 3.5mm jacks allow you to incorporate cameras and smartphones; a dock is even provided for your mobile device.
ProFXv3+
Mackie’s ProFX series of mixers has proven quite popular because they offer powerful connectivity and terrific features for live sound, home recording, and content production including Onyx mic pres, built-in effects, USB recording, and Bluetooth. Three new models have been added to the lineup: the ProFX6v3+, the ProFX10v3+, and the ProFX12v3+, all with color LCD screens and upgraded GigFX+ effects. All three provide versatile ways to capture audio at resolutions up to 24-bit / 192 kHz—allowing you to switch between Standard, Loopback, and Interface recording modes, depending on your needs.
