For any live event, quality amplified sound is crucial to crowd enjoyment. Bands in clubs, musicians in houses of worship, DJs at parties, theater troupes on stage, and singers at open-mic nights—they all need audiences to hear them clearly. The Yamaha CZR and DZR loudspeakers offer a powerful combination of portability, versatile configurability, and clean sonic performance. Whether you need passive speakers to connect to existing amplifiers or active speakers for direct hookup to mixers, Yamaha has a solution.
If power amplifiers are already installed in the venue, the CZR Series passive 2-way loudspeakers are the way to go. The CZR10 is rated to handle 700W of power and produce a maximum SPL of 127 dB. It yields a frequency range of 43 Hz to 20 kHz via a 10" woofer and 2" high-frequency compression driver, and offers a coverage angle of 90° horizontal by 60° vertical. For a bit more oompf, there’s the CZR12, which bumps the power handling up to 800W and the maximum SPL up to 129 dB. Its 12" woofer allows the lows to extend to 38 Hz. If you need to go even lower, opt for the CZR15, equipped with a 15" woofer to drop the low-frequency limit down to 33 Hz. Also, note that its vertical coverage angle is different (50° rather than 60° as found on the CZR10 and CZR12). All three models have rotatable horns for proper setup as a main PA speaker or floor monitor.
If pre-installed power amps aren’t present, the DZR Series powered 2-way and 3-way loudspeakers are what you need and more. They boast 2000W Class-D amplifiers and universal switching mode power supplies for stable, high-output operation. The DZR10 and Dante-equipped DZR10-D pump out a maximum SPL of 137 dB. Loaded with 10" cones and 2" high-frequency compression drivers, they produce a frequency range of 44 Hz to 20 kHz with the same coverage angle as the CZR10 and CZR12. The DZR12 and Dante-equipped DZR12-D raise the maximum SPL to 139 dB with 12" woofers reaching 39 Hz. The DZR15 and Dante-equipped DZR15-D incorporate 15" woofers to extend the low-frequency range to 34 Hz. Whereas DZR10s and DZR12s have a 90° horizontal by 60° vertical coverage angle, the DZR15s differ slightly with a 90° horizontal by 50° vertical coverage angle. Just like the CZR Series, the DZR10, DZR12, and DZR15 loudspeakers (and their Dante-equipped versions) are outfitted with rotatable horns.
Wait, don’t decide just yet! Also for your consideration are the powered 3-way DZR315 and DZR315-D loudspeakers, each boasting a 143 dB maximum SPL and a frequency range of 31 Hz to 20 kHz, thanks to a 15" woofer, 8" cone, and 2" high-frequency compression driver. In case you’re wondering, the coverage angle is also different at 75° horizontal by 50° vertical.
All DZR Series loudspeakers sport 96 kHz digital signal processors for a range of robust functions, such as Advanced FIR-X filter tuning, parametric EQ, delay, D-CONTOUR multiband compression, and multiple points of protection. Also, with a rear-panel LCD screen, lockable settings, up to eight presets, and support for USB data transfers, they’re easy to dial-in even when you’re in a hurry.
From a lonely soloist in a small store to a packed stage of performers in a large venue, the Yamaha CZR and DZR loudspeakers are ready to show off your sound. Visit our website and check them out in depth!
