Choosing Filter Bags and Pouches

Pouches and bags feature a variety of materials including neoprene, polyester, Cordura nylon, and softer cloth materials. Filter bags are handy for more than lens filters, as you can use them to carry adapters, step-down rings, and other accessories. Bags are available with several compartments, designed for either rectangular or round filters; some are made for both. Folding padded pouches such as filter wallets are a compact way to carry filters, and come with easy push-tab or Velcro closing options. Wallet holders have separate pockets for added organization.

Filter Storage Cases

Frequent transport of lenses may require solid cases to prevent breakage of sensitive plate filters. Cases are available with tripod and shoulder strap options, similar to bags. Cases have hard exteriors with internal organizing compartments for extra padded protection of expensive gear.
