SKB 1SKB-R4S Reviews
Light, shallow, it's a rack.
I wanted some fairly shallow gear in a rack and on a shelf. My 4U holds two audio interfaces, a network switch, a router, some video capture modules and a power strip. Latches and rails are properly positioned so there is no bending or twisting. It's not a shock mount ATA flight case but it isn't sold as one - and the weight difference is substantial. I will likely buy a second.
The best for my needs
I purchased a standard depth SKB 4U rack case about three years ago for my amp and power conditioner. The quality, features, and ease of use impressed me as well as the way it protected my gear in travel, at the gig and in storage. So it a no brainer when I needed a rack case for my wireless gear. Since the roto cases interlock when stacked it makes it easy to transport and store.
Compact and Sturdy!
Perfect for small rack mounted equipment!
Cheap, small, replace your large pieces
Never buy another BIG Rack case again in this day in age of smaller rack units.
Does the job!
Great Rack for the price.
I was pleasantly surprised on how sturdy this was. I have been looking for a light short depth rack to do exactly what the picture shows. I purchased 2, one for audio and one for all the Black Magic gear and they work out great. They also allow for more desk space if you have them up and or will stack on one another if you want them off to the side. No locking mechanism but I prefer to put my own in anyways.
Simply the best.
I wish I had just gone with these earlier - some of the bad reviews out there kept me away. Mine had no issues with thin walls, plastic shavings inside, etc. Perhaps buckles will prove to be a bit loose, but seems easy enough to simply curve them in a bit more with channel lock pliers/wrench. Originally I thought I would prefer other cases with the equipment more flush with the front of the case when open, but there is plenty of space to get your fingers to adjust knobs even near the edges of the case on mounted gear, plus the recess provides a bit more protection. These stack very well also. The tops do not sag very much, which some others do. (some pictures make them look very saggy, but all of mine are not) Finally, I don't know of any others that allow for shallow racks to be mixed with full-depth when stacking - this is very useful.
Great shallow rack!
This rack is perfect if you need portability and have no need for a deeper sized rack. The covers lock into place very snuggly.
