Optimized for Nikon F-mount lenses in the Global Vision line, the TC-2001 2x Teleconverter from Sigma will offer an increase in focal length of 2 times for select Global Vision lenses. This model offers full communication between the lens and camera and will allows autofocus to operate at up to f/8. The teleconverter also features two Special Low Dispersion elements for reducing the appearance of chromatic aberrations and maintaining quality. Sigma TC-2001 reviews

    TC-2001 2x Teleconverter for Nikon F is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Be realistic with your expectations. TC's are always made for specific lenses be it OEM or third party TC's. Even the a novice knows that a TC will degrade picture quality. You can expect a good 2x TC to degrade your image quality by 25% and a 1.4x to degrade about 5-8%. You also will lose two stops of light. Another important fact is the difficulty shooting at very long focal lengths. The haze alone in the air will show over long distances. This is not a defect of optics but a phenomenon of nature. As far as the review for this item. After doing a bit of POST processing, you will have great images. Expect to apply more sharpening and contrast. Unless you have a boat load of money, little alternatives can be found but you will be getting much closer to your subjects than was ever possible. I'll update my review when I get more time with the 120-300mm sport and maybe I'll even see if the zeiss 135mm f2 fits it. Ignore the other two 3 star reviews, they knock it because of firmware update and only working with limited lenses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great addition to 120-300mm /2.8 Much improved 2X converter. The lens is sharper, better color and contrast and better edge to edge than the older Sigma 2X

Rated 3 out of 5 by from invest in your lens instead of buying this sitting between my Nikon D800e and Sigma 150-600mm lens, this telecoverter deteriorated the qaulity of my images to an acceptable degree considering the added reach. However, in most cases, you wouldn't need this to the converter with this lens. Autofocus has failed miserably. It would probably be better off shooting in DX and gaining 1.5 extra reach, if your camera allows image area selection. Also, your minimum F stop will be F11. bottom line, digesting your camera it would you need instead of buying a 2x teleconverter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More than expected Used w. the 300-800 mm Sigma 5.6 I have to admit it has produced much better than expected. The days of a tele producing very poor results may be over! this has done very good work for me and even will autofocus most of the time on a Nikon 810. The overall quality is good and so long as the distance is not just insane, the results are quite good. I can recommend this as a good product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from PRobably good but only for specific lens I bought this to update to a more modern TC for Sigma lenses. However, this is not for general use, but only usable on specific Sigma lenses in their global vision line. At the time of this writing, the ONLY lens that this TC can be used with ins the 120-300mm f/2.8 Sport. I'm sure others will be added. For other Sigma lenses, you need to get the EX version of their TC's.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from TC-2001 Issues with 120-300mm F2.8 S FW Buyer beware once the Firmware of the 120 to 300mm Sports Lens is up dated to work with this T/C it will no longer work with the older models on the updated Firmware. So you can not mix an old 1.4T/C with a new 2X T/C per Sigma. Hello Randall, Unfortunately once you update the firmware of the lens for the new Tele-Converters the prior converters will no longer function. Yours Truly, Paul Pizzano The Sigma Corp. of America My Note to Sigma: I have the Sigma 120 to 300mm F2,8 Sports lens for Nikon Camera D7100 with both of the old models of Tele-converters. I just ordered the new model TC-2001 for Nikon. My question is after I update the Firmware of the lens to 1.02 will both new and old Tele-converters still work? I do not see the need for me to updated the 1.4 tele-converter because I do not use it often and I want to use the old 2X tele-converter as a spare.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not practical with my lens. I tried this converter many times and quickly realized how difficult it is to focus manually with a combination with my Sigma 150-600 mm Contemporary lens. The lens itself does a very good job. AF works nice, but with TC-2001 you have to focus only manually. At focus length of 1200 mm even when using a tripod it is very hard to do. Plus the quality of the picture deteriorates noticeably. With other lenses it may be OK, but not with my lens.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from compatibility not well described I really should not comment on the product as we could not use it with our Sigma lens - we found out only after ordering it that it is very limited in its compatibility with ANY lens. Should be a NOTE: this Teleconverter is limited in its compatibility with all lens including Sigma lenses
