    Magnus PV-7451M Reviews

    PV-7451M Tripod/Monopod with 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 36.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fixing the wobbly attachment plate Overall the quality and feel of the tripod is good, but I would subtract 1.5 stars because I had to fix it. I also had the issue with a wobbly attachment plate for a large spotting scope. I tried tightening down the screw on the release mechanism but the plate still had quite a bit of play. I ended up making a 0.105 shim that I placed under the front using layers of Aluminum tape. Now the wobble is gone. Hope that this helps those that have wobble.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great except for one thing I'm using two of these units. Everything is great about them except for the wobbly attachment plate. The camera has a good 1/4 - 1/2 play when firmly inserted. This is unacceptable and I cannot recommend this tripod. Because of this wobble, you can't frame stills without a lot of difficult compensating. For video, it's just too loose. Too bad a great product has to have this one vital problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tripod plus we love the bonus monopod! Some of the reviews for this mentioned the loose head that would tilt/move despite locking it down. We found it to be the opposite - the head is harder to move and when tightened, it isn't sagging or tilting! Given the versatility, light weight, included bag, and its ability to become a monopod, we are very happy with it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Loose Quick Release Plate- It's A Toy I planned to use this with a Nikon field scope as a digiscope. The combination of scope and camera were well within the spec'd tripod weight capacity. The fit between the quick release base plate and tripod head is terrible. There's a 1.4mm gap so naturally there is a great amount of wobble. I was able to fill the gap with a piece of stiff cardboard shim- which helped greatly, however the tripod head still wobbled more than I liked because it's under built for the weight I mounted on it. For $90, with the idea of just using it with a camera doing stills and an owner-fitted piece of cardboard, the tripod works fine. But it should be designed and manufactured correctly to begin with, so I'm returning it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PERFECT... with a bit of common sense applied True, this tripod should have been field tested before putting on the market, but the second I read the negative review about the "wobble" even when nut is tightened, I immediately figured out that a "spacer/washer" will easily solve the problem. I am taking the time to write this review because after reading the specs and ?the reviews, to get a tripod which is: 1) lightweight ? 2) has a weight capacity of 10 lbs. ?3) has ?bubble levels.. 4) quick release plate. 5) quick flip levers. 5) bag included, 6) spikes and 7) center column converts to a monopod, all for under $90/on sale for $49. THIS IS QUITE AMAZING. Also, the closed length sounds like it will fit in a medium sized suitcase for light travel and leave the heavyweight at home. Cheers to all. Happy shooting. i do understand that everyone has their own preference. And OH!!! I forgot that it also goes to a max height of 6 feet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So impressed I bought another one! I have purchased several tripods, but have been disappointed with either the cheap construction or the lack of smooth pan and tilt. Not a problem here. And then there is the combo tripod / monopod to make good value great. Love it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Wobbly head disappoints Although the monopod option is a 2 in 1 plus, it causes the head to wobble. The head is challenging to stabilize even with all of the locks set. The heavier the cameras, the more pronounced the problem becomes. On a positive not, it is light weight and easy to carry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic for the low price This tripod is better than next to all other tripods in the same price range. Not a single complaint with the sticks; they are lightweight but very stable. The only issues I had were with the head, as it can occasionally have some friction, but still performed exceptionally for the price. The monopod feature was also very nice. When not in use it tucks away nicely and is completely out of the way. On the monopod exclusively to keep the legs extended you have to twist the pole, but its not quite as simple as lefty loosy, righty tighty, and can be tightened by turning either way which can be confusing. While I do wish it had the same locks as the sticks, once tightened it still performs great. Once again, a fantastic tripod, especially for the price.
