Nikon SB-5000 AF Speedlight
Key Features
  • Radio Control Advanced Wireless Lighting
  • Cooling System for 100 Consecutive Shots
  • Compatible with Nikon i-TTL
  • Guide Number: 113' at ISO 100 and 35mm
Nikon has reimagined both on- and off-camera lighting with the SB-5000 AF Speedlight, which brings revolutionary radio control to the Creative Lighting System with Advanced Wireless Lighting and comes equipped with a world's first shoe-mounted flash cooling system that enables up to 100 consecutive full-power flashes. These features alone are enough to put it at the top of the speedlight heap, but the SB-5000 doesn't rest and provides a powerful guide number of 113' at ISO 100 and 35mm while also shrinking in overall size compared to its predecessors.

On by the normal because it has US warranties, don't know anything more about the imports if they have warranty coverage or not.

question

I have a D4S and an SB5000. How do I control the flashlight from the camera? I don't know how to set it up to where when I snap a picture the flash will go off as well. Can someone give me a step by step instruction of how? I have already gone through the manual, and it only made me more confused.
Asked by: Anonymous
Nikon would be best suited to provide step by step instructions and technical support via 1(800)645-6687. We could not cover everything in just one Q&A and they would be able to easily go over it on the phone with you.

Focal Range - what zoom range will this work on D850?
Asked by: Philip
I have found that the SB-5000 has an effective range of about 70 feet. Beyond that, the light level begins to drop off fairly significantly. If you are shooting in an urban setting with ambient lighting you might be able to push the range a bit further.
