This was the answer for wildlife photography and the long intervals between capture opportunities for hummers and other wildlife projects.

Works as intended! Great for video or interval shooting.

DC Coupler DR-E17 ... attaches to the DC cord of the AC Adapter CA-PS700 ... fitting inside the camera's battery compartment to provide a constant power supply. To counter the negative reviews, this DC coupler fits in the battery compartment, but only provides power to the camera if the CA-PS700 is connected. At first, I wondered how I would be able to power on the camera with the battery door open, much less attach a tripod bracket. However, I quickly discovered that the slide that is used to open the battery door folds up and allows the CA-PS700 to connect to the coupler through the door. This leaves plenty of clearance for Manfrotto and smaller Arca-Swiss plates, and makes it easy to connect/disconnect the power brick and mains cord if needed.

No, the iFootage Electric Ray E1 USB Power Converter (Red) B&H # IFE1RED MFR # E1 RED works with the iFootage Dummy Battery Coupler and they do not make one for the LP-E17 Canon battery at this time.

Will this work with all Canon cameras that have E-17 batteries like the 750d? For some reason the dummy battery suggested for the 750d is called DR-E18.

The Canon EOS 750D, also known as the Canon EOS Rebel T6i, uses the LP-E17 battery, therefore this coupler is compatible.
