Canon AC-E6N Reviews

Terrible

BH website lists this as compatible with the R50 but it is not. When I tried to initiate a return I was advised by BH to remove the battery door from my camera body. The most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I wish I could give BH zero stars for that one. What an absolutely ridiculous idea to permanently alter the camera body to plug in a battery. I will never buy anything from BH again since this is how they treat their customers. I will gladly drive across town to Hunts Photo.

Works as expected with the DC coupler

Wires are solid. Looks great quality. Probably overcharging me but I couldn't risk using an off branded power supply for my $2600 camera. Sounds risky.

Will this and the coupler eliminate the 30 min auto shutoff of the 5d mark iii? I won't be recording on the camera itself but passing through to an Atem mini pro which will handle the recording.
Asked by: Chris
No, the 30 minute recording limit is not affected by using the AC adapter instead of batteries. It is a limit imposed by Canon in firmware to avoid having the camera classified as a video camera by the EU and subject to a hefty import duty.

question

I see the list of compatible cameras on the Overview page for the AC-E6N adapter. But I'm wondering, does it work the Canon 6D? I cannot see why not, as it takes the same battery, etc. as all these other models listed.
Asked by: Matt
As I am using this adapter with a Canon 5Ds and I have not owned a 6D, I can only guess. I believe that most of the top Canon DSLR's use the same voltage power supply, so in theory it should work. Try, and see if the adapter fits in the battery compartment without any force being used and no AC connected to the adapter. Obviously caution must be exercised.
