Is it protected against accidental phantom power ...
Is it protected against accidental phantom power like the SE X1 R?
The MXL R144 HE Heritage Edition Ribbon Microphone is not protected against phantom power, and there is a warning in the user manual that phantom power may damage the microphone.
If your equipment has a phantom power switch that is universal to multiple mic inputs, or if you want to be safe from accidental button presses, a blocker like this can protect your mic: https://bhpho.to/3L0h4CV.
If you want a little bit more clean gain from the microphone, in-line preamps such as the Polsen XP-30D or the Cloudlifter CL-1 can protect the mic from phantom power while also providing you with a better level signal.
