The VR Compatible Stand Kit was put together by B&H to offer virtual reality enthusiasts with a means of supporting two base stations/cameras, so that VR can be enjoyed in the play area. The kit consists of two four-section Impact 8' Air-Cushioned Light Stands with 5/8" studs and 1/4"-20 male threads. An Oben Mini Ball Head is included to mount on the stand.

Is the base where it folds made out of plastic or metal? The ones I currently have are plastic and are consistently breaking.

Yes, the Impact Collapsible Reflector / Background Holder Kit can support a 6.5 x 5 Wescott Reversible Backdrop from the center top of the background. I recommend using a sandbag on the bottom of the stand, BH #IMSBFO15 (https://bhpho.to/3wT8EK6).

Does this light stand come with a rubber cap to cover the 1/4" threaded post?
Yes, the Impact Air-Cushioned Light Stand (Black, 8') does come with a rubber cap to cover the 1/4" threaded post. If you are having an issue with your light fitting correctly, please remove this cap and reinstall.
