ORANGEMONKIE FOLDIO3 Reviews
The quality of the product and the images that im able to capture are amazing
Worth the money
Things I like: 1. Feels sturdy 2. Easy to setup 3. Integrated lights 4. Quality Things I dislike: 1. Both backdrops (white and black) fit into the studio in an odd way. I like that they use magnets but they probably should be designed to fit completely. The black is different to the white - size and anchor points! 2. The black backdrop is not black enough and it also is a dust magnet. Post processing required to remove all the dust. Use a lint roller but dust jumps back on. 3. It would be good if the black backdrop was made of the same material as the white one, which is a form of plastic rather than soft material 4. Probably should include a green backdrop as most of these things do. I think I will be making a couple of more backdrops when I find time and some suitable medium.
The best lighting item I have purchased for doing indoor photography of smaller items. I do a lot of macro photography and smaller object photography. I also do some product photography. It is easy to set up and take down and it does not take up much space. The halo lights are a definite plus to get with it. Would recommend this to anyone looking to do photography of smaller objects.
Easy to setup and good even lighting
I was amazed how easy this was to set up and the regulator allowing to dim the light continuously makes it easy to get a well lit picture. I like it.
great mini studio
Bought this lightbox for some toy photography. It works great since the 25 give me enough room to pose and create small dioramas. Figures are about 8 to 12 tall so this is perfect. Light is bright and eve and the whole thing is pretty light weight and super easy to assemble. I might buy the additional lights at some point.
Well thought out and works well
The Mini-Studio is perform for getting great shots of smell to medium sized objects. The choice of white and black backgrounds together with the integrated lights work well to create a shadow free image. Its perfect for product photography for online platforms, eBay etc. It folds down for easy storage. Overall a nice unit at a reasonable price point.
This works well for me, though it really takes up a lot of space when it's set up. The lighting is good. I wish it came with some instructions on how to place objects so you get the best light, and tips on dealing with reflective surfaces. Separately, B&N shipped this thing incredibly fast. That was the best part.
Amazing Purchase But...
It's extremely easy to setup and immediately get to production but the one thing that's keeping it from 5 stars is that it's not the best thing for reflective surfaces when it comes to the overhead LEDs. There also isn't a cover or modifier that would allow for you to soften the overhead lights, so it's going to come down to some DIY solutions. Between the overhead lights and the white sides of the mini studio you're bound to get a lot of the mini studio in the reflection as well as the u shaped LEDs if the reflective surface is large. For my test I used wine bottles and aside from the limits of the mini studio you can just opt to use your own external lights if you have them, a DIY solution to mount a light softener, or at least block the walls with some type of matching color cutout or fabric - I used the black backdrop included with purchase for my test shoot. All and all it's a great purchase and traveling with it will be easy. The Velcro pads that the backdrop mounts to also makes it easy for you to go out and purchase your own materials, install some Velcro pieces and then you'll have a ton of creative options.
