KIPON EOS-NIK Z Reviews
Exactly what I was looking for
I just needed a simple, dumb adapter for my EF lenses to go on my Nikon ZR that didn't wiggle when pulling focus. I saw a lot of reviews for cheaper adapters that mentioned their lenses wiggled in the adapter while pulling focus. Happy to report that there is zero issue with that on this adapter, it feels rock solid. I can pull focus as fast as I want and there is no give to it at all. The adapter does move very, very slightly if you twist on the adapter itself, but that shouldn't be an issue in normal operation. The build quality feels great, it's all metal and feels like an extension of my camera. It will add a little more weight and size compared to the smaller ring adapters, but I imagine this is only as issue for very small setups. The only real nitpick I have is the lens release button is quite sharp to the touch on the corners, sharp enough that I could see someone cutting their finger on it if they're not careful. So I may sand those corners down a bit. Otherwise, definitely worth paying a few bucks more than the cheaper options out there.
It does what it is supposed to do
As I understood from the begining that this was a dumb accessory that allowed me to operate my Rokinon EF mount lens on my Nikon Z50, I was very happy to see that it fit perfectly smoothly (past experiences have proved this is not always the case). I have indeed lost auto-focus, aperture control, etc but I have saved +- 200$ with a full solution I would not use anyway (the Rokinon is for astrophotography)
